Mumbai, March 17 (IANS) Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who was all set to start the filming of his film "The Kashmir Files" in Kashmir this week, has called off the shoot due to the coronavirus outbreak.## "We were scheduled to start shooting in Kashmir this week. But because of the outbreak of coronavirus and the advisory of the Government of India and the WHO, we have decided to push it ahead. We realized that a wise decision is to postpone everything which involves more than a couple of people and that to the known people from a known environment," Vivek said.## "The Kashmir Files" features Anupam Kher in a pivotal role. Sara Ali Khan's Varanasi temple visit creates controversy

Varanasi, March 17 (IANS) Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan's much-publicized visit to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, has drawn the ire of local pandits and saints.## The actor was in Mumbai for the shooting of 'Antrangi Re' when she visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple and participated in the 'Ganga aarti' on Sunday.## Her mother and actor Amrita Singh was with her.## The Kashi Vikas Samiti has now raised objections to the actor's visit on the grounds that Sara Ali Khan in a non-Hindu.## Chandra Shekhar Kapoor, the secretary of the Samiti, said, "The actor's visit to the temple is against traditions and established norms. It also raises questions on the security of the temple when there is a signboard clearly stating that the entry of 'non-Hindus' is prohibited."## He said that some priests had violated norms because they had probably got "a handsome dakshina" and free publicity.## Sara's visit was highly publicized because the actor herself uploaded a video on her social media account in which she gave her fans a tour of the 'Banaras ki Gali' leading up to the temple and is seen showing the various shops along the lane.## The Kashi Vikas Samiti has now demanded a probe into the actor's visit and action against those responsible.## Local pandits and seers are also upset over Sara attending the 'Ganga aarti' and the Kashi Vishwanath temple.## "Though we appreciate her interest in the Hindu religion the fact remains that she is a Muslim and should not have participated in the rituals. For her, all this could be 'interesting and exciting' but for us, it is a matter of religious piety," said Rakesh Mishra, a priest.## He further said that Sara would be known by the religion of her father, Saif Ali Khan, who is a Muslim.## Another priest Amarnath Bajpai, however, defended the actor and said that she was accompanied by her mother, Amrita Singh, who is a devout Hindu.## A local tour operator Siddhu Tiwari, meanwhile, said that it was the behavior of some 'close-minded people' who were raising objections on the issue.## "Any person, including Sara, can visit a temple if they believe in the deity. The 'Ganga aarti' is attended by thousands of foreigners who are non-Hindus too. People are only looking for publicity by making an issue out of this. COVID-19: Release of Rana Daggubati's 'Haathi Mere Saathi' pushed indefinitely

Mumbai, March 17 (IANS) Just as many other big budget movies are getting postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic, the makers of the Rana Daggubati-starrer "Haathi Mere Saathi" have also decided to do the same. The multilingual film, which was slated to hit theatres on April 2, has been rescheduled and a fresh release date will be announced later. ## Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted on Monday: "Because health and safety comes above everything! Hope to see you guys soon at the theatres. Till then, stay safe! #Aranya #Kaadan #HaathiMereSaathi. April 2nd release postponed.." ## He also shared a notification issued by the production house Eros International, which reads: "Eros International has always kept our audience's interest at forefront as a core value. Healthy and happy audiences have always kept us motivated to produce and distribute unique stories that have never been told before. In light of recent developments of COVID-19, our recent announcement regarding the scheduled release of Haathi Mere Saathi, Aranya and Kaadan stands changed." ## The makers further announced that they are monitoring the situation and will be back with a new release date. ## Directed by Prabu Solomon, the film releases as "Hathi Mere Saathi" in Hindi, and simultaneously as "Aranya" in Telugu and "Kaadan" in Tamil. COVID-19 effect: No film, TV, digital shoot from March 19 to 31

Mumbai, March 15 (IANS) In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all filmmaking and producing bodies have unanimously decided to stop shooting for all kinds of entertainment formats temporarily. ## A notification unanimously issued by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association, Federation of Western India Cine Employees and other similar bodies have ordered that shooting for films, TV shows, digital and other kinds of entertainment format will have to remain suspended between March 19 to 31. ## The notification reads: "In view of the epidemic spread of COVID-19 throughout the world including India, an urgent joint meeting of IMPPA- WIPFA-IFTPC-IFTDA-FWICE held on 15-3-2020 unanimously decided to stop shooting of films, TV serials, web series and all other entertainment, including digital formats from 19-3-2020 till 31-3-2020 as a result of health advisory, closure of all cinema halls, all sporting, educational institutes and entertainment events by the Government of India which has declared a medical emergency over the coronavirus. We appreciate and support all the steps taken by the Government of India to control the virus." ## "All units shooting till the stoppage comes into force have been strictly advised to follow all precautionary and preventive measures without fail." ## "Decision about re-starting shootings shall be taken on 30-3-2020 after considering the prevailing situation." ## It was reported only yesterday that superstar Salman Khan is continuing shooting in the city for his upcoming flick 'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai' even though the makers insist they are strictly adhering to the safety norms of World Health Organisation (WHO). ## Meanwhile, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted this morning requesting his fans not to gather outside the gate of his bungalow Jalsa for their weekly meet and suggested them to stay safe. ## For more and the latest news about Bollywood, stay tuned to us.

Francis passed away. He'd said that if I wanted (the palace) back, I could let him know. I said that I want it back. They held a conference, and said, okay, you have to give us lots of money!" Mumbai, March 15 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has for years met his fans or "extended family" as he calls them, outside his home here, canceled the ritual of the "Sunday meet" due to the outbreak of coronavirus.## Amitabh on Sunday took to Twitter, where he shared a photograph of himself and captioned it: "To all Ef and well-wishers an earnest request! PLEASE DO NOT COME TO JALSA GATE TODAY .. SUNDAY MEET am not going to come! Take PRECAUTIONS .. be safe Sunday ka darshan Jalsa pe cancel hai, Kripya koi wahan jama na ho aaj shaam ko! New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Just imagine, a puppy having an account on social media with a following of over 15K! Hard to digest? As much as the Bollywood celebrities are famous, their four-legged friends too create a frenzy on the internet. ## Several Bollywood celebrities and ardent animal lovers like John Abraham, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra, among many other celebrities, have created Instagram accounts for their pets, who enjoy no less stardom and attention than their "parents". ## IANS lists a few celebrity pets with sizeable fan following on Instagram: ## DIANA CHOPRA ## Priyanka Chopra Jonas adopted a puppy in 2016 and named her Diana. The Indian actress then introduced Diana to the world on Instagram. She goes with the Insta handle "diariesofdiana", which currently has 220 posts, and has a fan following of over 149k. ## SIA and BAILEY ## Bollywood hunk John Abraham has two furry babies, Sia and Bailey. The two have a profile "abraham_bailey" and enjoy a fan following of over 15.1K. Their bio reads: "Hi, I'm Bailey and this is my baby girl Sia! I was adopted by my awesome parents and we all live together". Their profile currently has 141 posts. ## EDWARD BHATT ## Actress Alia Bhatt has a white persian cat, whom she has named Edward. She constantly gives sneak peek into her kitty's life through his profile "bhattedward". Edward's bio reads: "Momma's boy @aliaabhatt. Eddiiee..." ## BELLA, JASMINE, GOKU and KEETY ## Disha Patani is a parent to not one but four furry 'kids' -- two dogs and two cats, who go by the names of Bella, Jasmine, Goku and Keety. The four-legged friends on Instagram have a following of a whopping 21.1k followers. The bio describes them as: "Bella - Famous on the gram, Jasmine - Meows, climbs and a whole lot of love! Goku - Always bring me snacks, Keety - Too cool to care!" ## LUCIFER ## Going with the Insta ID 'livinitupwithlucifer' is actress Raveena Raveena Tandon-Thadani's cute Pomeranian. The actress has made a profile on the photo-sharing website to give everyone an insight to her puppy's life. Lucifer enjoys a fan following of over 1K fans on the social media website. ## TIA ## Actress-singer Sophie Choudry is a pet mama to a Shih Tzu named Tia, whose Insta handle is tia_thetzu. Tia enjoys a following of 1,893 fans. Her description reads: "I am a super cute Shih Tzu puppy living in Mumbai with my darling mummy @SophieChoudry & granny Yasmin." ## It doesn't just stop at pets! ## Actress Adah Sharma has a stuffed toy cat, which she has fondly named Radha. Adah has made an Instagram profile for the toy, which goes by the name "adah_ki_radha". The funny part is that the profile has a verified mark and has over 26.9k followers! Radha's bio read: "Radha Sharma... Starkid of @adah_ki_adah ## Here for my talent of changing expressions, not here coz of NEPOTISM.
