Ajay Devgn Starts Shooting of Mayday In Hyderabad, Announces Release Date

Bollywood superstar, Ajay Devgn has started the shooting of his upcoming directorial, Mayday in Hyderbad today (11 December). Ajay will also be featuring in the movie along with legendary Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Angira Dhar. After memorable cinematic outings together in Major Sahab, Khakee and Satyagraha, Ajay Devgn will be directing Big B for the first time in Mayday. Ajay took to Twitter and shared a picture of the clapper board mentioning the shot details. Sharing the photo, Ajay Devgn also announced that the film will be completed in a start-to-finish schedule as well as the release date. Yograj Singh Axed From Vivek Agnihotri Directorial 'The Kashmir Files' Over Blasphemous Speech During Farmers Protest

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has dropped Yograj Singh, father of former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, from his upcoming film, 'The Kashmir Files', after the actor's speech during the farmers' protest recently. According to Agnihotri, Yograj Singh lost his job as the fallout of an allegedly hateful speech he gave at the ongoing farmer protests in Delhi-NCR. ## "I had cast Mr. Yograj Singh for my film 'The Kashmir Files' for a very prominent role and I had long chats with him. I knew that he has a history but I ignored as I generally do not mix art and artiste. I keep artiste and politics away. When he gave the speech it was shocking, and I cannot tolerate someone talking about women. It is just not about Hindu women or Muslim women but he spoke so badly about women and on top of that he tried to create a hateful decisive narrative", Agnihotri said in a statement. ## Recently, while giving a speech at the ongoing farmer protests in NCR, Yograj Singh reportedly commented on Hindu women saying "their women were sold for two cents. When their women and daughters were abducted by people like Ahmed Shah Durrani and sold off, it was we Sikhs who saved them. These are the people who have betrayed us. This community has been slaves for thousands of years".## Agnihotri added, "I have sent him an official termination letter I don't care what he replies. I am not a kind of commercial filmmaker. I make films with a purpose. I make films that expose the truth and I don't want this person to become part of the truth. Whatever he said, it was hateful and this kind of people just want to create violence".## Talking about the film 'The Kashmir Files', it narrates the story of Kashmiri Pandit Refugees and based upon the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus carried out by Islamists in the early 1990s. The film was originally announced for August 15, 2020, release but postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. Now, the first schedule of The Kashmir Files started this week in Mussoorie. Director Abir Sengupta, who is gearing up for the theatrical release of his upcoming comedy-drama film Indoo Ki Jawani starring Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal, says in the current situation, more than box office numbers, filmmakers need the support of the audience to bring back normalcy to the culture of theatrical releases.## "It is a tough time for us to gain back that confidence, to go to the theatre and watch a film, considering the pandemic, but we also need the dose of entertainment and escape. Laxmii 25 Days Overseas Box Office Collection

Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer horror-comedy, Laxmii has performed decently in the overseas market. The Raghava Lawrence directorial ditched theatrical release in India, however, hit theaters overseas on November 9. The remake of Tamil film Kanchana, Laxmii (earlier titled as Laxmmi Bomb) had earned Rs. 3.34 crores in the extended first week of 11 days. However, from the second week onwards, the collection started slowing down as it earned Rs. 60 lakh in the second week. In the 3rd week, the movie almost exhausted at the box office and earned only Rs. 11 lakh and therefore, the 25 days' collection of Laxmii stands at Rs. 4.05 crores. The United Arab Emirates proved to be the highest grosser with Rs. 1.90 crores in 25 days followed by Australia with Rs. 1.04 crores and New Zealand with Rs. 62 lakh during the same period. Laxmii released over 200 screens overseas. Laxmi is directed by Raghava Lawrence who directed and also starred in the original movie. Saif Ali Khan Clarifies and Apologises For His Controversial Statement on Adipurush

Saif Ali Khan, who is set to portray the character of 'Lankesh' in Om Raut's magnum opus, Adipurush, has landed in troubled water after his controversial statement of "justifying the abduction of Sita by Raavan" in a recent interview. ## In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Saif had opened up on playing Raavan in Prabhas starrer Adhipurush and said, "It's interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose".## His statement hurt the sentiments of a section of citizens and they demanded Saif's omission from the movie which will release in 2022. Mumbai BJP leader Ram Kadam criticized the actor for the same and had tweeted, "Actor #SaifAliKhan makes an extremely shocking statement regarding his forthcoming film Adipurush. Saif who plays Ravan's character says Ravan's abduction of Sita Maa will be justified in the film. Ravan's humane side will be shown and his war against Sri Ram will be justified". ## "Director @OmRaut director, you made #Tanhaji which was well received worldwide bcz it does justice to Hindu pride and Marathi asmita. But if #Adhipurush plans to show Ravan in positive light and justify the inhuman act of abduction of Sita Maa, we will never allow that to happen. Hope better sense prevails #JaiShriRam", he added. ## After found himself on the wrong side, Saif has now clarified and withdrawn his statement and has apologized for hurting the sentiments. He said that he never intended to hurt anyone as he himself idolize Lord Ram. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologize to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Prabhas Teams Up With K.G.F. Director Prashanth Neel For an Action Saga, Salaar To Be Produced By Hombale Films

The director of Yash starrer K.G.F, Prashanth Neel who is currently busy with the production of his upcoming film KGF: Chapter 2, has joined hand with Baahubali star, Prabhas for his next action saga titled, Salaar. The movie will be produced by Vijay Kirugandur of Hombale Films. ## According to India TV News, sources close to actor Prabhas revealed that director Prashanth Neel met the actor recently. The director narrated a story to Prabhas and the latter was impressed with the story and signed the film.## Salaar will go on floors in January 2021. It is also the first time when the actor-director duo of Prabhas and Prashanth has come together for a film. It will be a pan India movie and will release in multiple languages. ## BIGGG NEWS... Bollywood actor Rahul Roy has suffered a brain stroke while shooting for a project in Kargil and is now admitted to the ICU of Mumbai's Nanavati hospital, according to India TV News.## The news comes as a shock for all the fans of the popular actor of the 90s era. The actor was shooting for his upcoming film titled 'LAC – Live the Battle' in Kargil when the incident took place. It was due to the harsh weather conditions that caused the stroke after which he was taken to Srinagar and then to Mumbai. ## "He was hospitalized two days ago after he arrived from Kargil. He was admitted due to a progressive brain stroke," the family source told PTI. "He is safe and recovering well. The recovery will take some time", they added.## Meanwhile, further, the report said that he has completed the shooting of his film which is based on the real-life event of Galwan Ghati. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior director, Om Raut is working on his next magnum opus, Adipurush - an adaptation of the epic Ramayana. The filmmaker has reportedly finished the scripting of this big-scale mythological and now, working on finalizing the cast. ## While Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan had already been announced to play Ram and Lankesh respectively, the search for other important characters is also looking on the finishing line. Now, the makers have finalized Kriti Sanon to play the role of Sita while Sunny Singh to portray Laxman in Adipurush, as reported earlier. ## Sunny Singh who was last seen in Navjot Gulati's Jai Mummy Di last year has signed the film and started shooting. The actor is elated to have bagged such a massive project and is excited to share screen space with the superstar Prabhas as his aide and younger brother. ## For the role of Sita, earlier the names like Keerthy Suresh, Anushka Sharma, and Deepika Padukone had cropped up, but Kriti Sanon is brought on board to play Prabhu Ram's wife's role in this most awaited film. ## "After considering several top names, from both the Hindi and Telugu industries, the makers have decided on Kriti.
