Sad That History Books Today Have Just One Paragraph On Prithviraj Chauhan: Akshay Kumar

Mumbai, May 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is essaying the role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in the upcoming biographical period action drama film "Prithviraj". Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film marks the debut of former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar as the female lead.## The trailer of "Prithviraj" was launched on May 9 at an event in Mumbai. During the event, Akshay Kumar talked about Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and his acts of bravery. "I have been working in the industry for thirty years and I have to say that I haven't seen a historical film of this scale in my career spanning three decades", he said. ## "I felt a sense of accomplishment after portraying the character of such a great man, I would like to thank my director Chandraprakash Dwivedi and producer Aditya Chopra", Akshay added. ## He further mentioned how he got to know the titular character beyond the scope of the script through a book, "When we were about to embark on the journey of the film, the director gave me a book on Prithviraj Chauhan. After reading that book I realized how great warrior is Prithviraj Chauhan".## As often debated in recent times about the short reference of Prithviraj Chauhan in the Indian history books, Akshay too said that "It's sad that history books today just have one paragraph on Prithviraj Chauhan. Mumbai, May 6 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor shared screen space for a few seconds in director Rajkumar Hirani's all-time blockbuster "PK" (2014), which eventually triggered the speculation about the future collaboration. However, nothing worked out despite the rumors of both joining hands for the sequel to "PK". ## Last year, it was reported that Aamir and Ranbir liked a script and might join hands to do the film. Box Office: Heropanti 2 First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 4 - Heropanti 2 performed very badly over the first weekend of its box office run with the weekend collections being around the 15 cr net. This should have been the opening day collection or at least close to this figure considering the star power of Tiger Shroff. The film was rejected by the audience as that is what the first Monday collections suggested. Tuesday saw a rise in collections due to the Eid holiday but still, the collections are so little that it could not make any difference. Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters.
