Box Office: Laal Singh Chaddha First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 12 - Laal Singh Chaddha which had a disappointing opening day with just 12 crores net collections in all the versions has seen a big drop on the second day of its release. The drop is big in the range of 40% but when you compare it to the low opening day then the drop looks even bigger. The early estimated collections on the second day are set to be around 7.5 crores net for Laal Singh Chaddha. East Punjab which raked decent first-day collections has also dropped largely on the second day. Rest all other circuits are recording awful collections. The second-day collections will push the first two days' collections of the film to a little less than the 20cr net mark which should have been the opening day number of Laal Singh Chaddha. Tomorrow is Saturday and then a huge two national holidays are waiting so Laal Singh Chaddha should record good collections otherwise the film might turn out to be one of the biggest loss-making films of all time which is a regular practice for the industry for the last 6 months. Box Office: Raksha Bandhan First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 12 - After recording a low opening day of just 8.20 crores net box office collections, Raksha Bandhan sees a drop on the second day. The drop is lesser than Laal Singh Chaddha but it also has to notice that Laal Singh Chaddha had a higher first day so the drop was likely to be bigger. The early estimated collections are set to be around 5.50-6 crores net which will push the total collections of Raksha Bandhan to approx 14cr which should have been the opening day number of the film. No circuit is recording good numbers for Raksha Bandhan on a whole but Gujarat and Saurashtra can be called decent but not as a standalone circuit. These two centers recording decent collections just because Akshay Kumar has better pull in these centers. The drop on Friday was expected considering a Thursday release. However, the drop is a little bigger than the makers would have liked. The next three days will be crucial for the movie in the contest of its lifetime run. But both the movies struggled on their first day despite having the advantage of a national holiday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. ## The main reason why these movies had to encounter the struggle is that Both have less commercial appeal and are made in a more urban-friendly manner. Box Office: Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan Collect Combined 20+ Crores On First Day

Mumbai, August 12 - The much-awaited Bollywood biggies, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar-fronted Raksha Bandhan performed underwhelmingly at the box office on an opening day. Being a holiday release, the industry was expecting both films to do well which didn't happen. ## Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the official remake of the classic Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump, was a bigger film than Raksha Bandhan. However, the opening day collection of 12 crores net of the film is too low by the standard Aamir has set over the years.## It was almost impossible to match the pre-covid level box office performance for Laal Singh Chaddha, but the movie still needed to perform much better than it actually earned, considering the big budget and scale of the film. A negative campaign was also run against the movie and that might have done damage to the movie. The word of mouth, however, is mixed. ## On the other hand, the Akshay Kumar-starrer family comedy-drama film, Raksha Bandhan collected 8.20 crores net on Thursday. Though the movie was predicted to earn around in the same range, a 10 crores start would have been nice, but unfortunately, the movie legged behind LSC in mutliplexes. The word of mouth and reivews are largly positive and this should help the movie to grow over the weekend, especially from Saturday. ## Overall, both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan combined scored 20.20 crores net collection on the first day, which is lower than the opening of Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi. The early estimated collections are set to be around 9cr net box office collections which are fine for the type of content the film is offering but considering the film is an Akshay Kumar starrer who has a solid initial star power then the opening is disappointing. Both of them scored double-digit marks comfortably which was the target for Raksha Bandhan. The plus point is that the film is driven by middle-class audiences so the film can see some growth in the premium multiplexes on Saturdays and Sundays. The film is in a much safer position than its rival film Laal Singh Chaddha due to way lower cost and this is what matters the most. Even if Raksha Bandhan sees normal growth over the next couple of days then it will be a good sign for the Industry. Mumbai, Aug 11, 2022: The first event film of this year from the Hindi film industry Laal Singh Chaddha has been released at the box office starring Aamir Khan as a central character. The film was scheduled to release earlier but has been postponed many times until it was released today. The trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha could not build any kind of urgency and even the songs could not raise the buzz and anticipation around the film as a result the film failed on the opening front. Opening Day Box Office Prediction For Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and Akshay Kumar-Fronted 'Raksha Bandhan'

Mumbai, August 10 - There is a lot depending on the upcoming two Bollywood biggies - Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, as far as the box office is concerned. It would have been nice if they have got a solo release, but that is not happening as both the movies are releasing on August 11. ## Laal Singh Chaddha, which stars superstar Aamir Khan in the title role, is the biggest movie this month and the industry is expecting it to perform according to the reputation it is carrying. However, the advance booking trend is saying something else which might have forced the industry to lower their expectations, at least for the opening day. ## It would have been a huge surprise to see an Aamir Khan's film not able to pick in advance sales. However, things have changed post-pandemic as the trend of box office openings post-pandemic has largely been on the lower side. Irrespective of the star power, Bollywood films haven't been able to take the big opening except for Akshay Kumar's, Sooryavanshi, which opened to over 26 crores on Diwali 2021. ## Laal Singh Chaddha, which has so far grossed approx. 3.50 crores in advance sales, is looking to open around 12-13 crores. The movie will depend on word of mouth, and we are expecting it to be positive which might push the film to around 15 crores net start. The 15 crores opening is not at all good by the standard Aamir has set, but the industry should take it in a positive way as it is having a clash with another big film, that too under current circumstances. ## On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-fronted, Raksha Bandhan is not really dependent upon the advance booking trend and will largely rely on spot bookings. The makers have promised the revive the family drama genre with this Anand L Rai-directorial and the inside reports are also super positive. ## Raksha Bandhan, which is having a perfect Holiday release, matching the vibes of the Raksha Bandhan festival, is very much on track to open around Akshay Kumar's last film, Samrat Prithviraj. Going by the advance booking, the 8-9 crores opening is a sure shot, but we are expecting it to have a better spot booking, which, hopefully, will help the film to open around 10-11 crores net. ## The best thing for both the movies is that they have a long holiday weekend ahead. So, if the critics' reviews and word of mouth is positive, both LSC and RB have all the potential to grow over the weekend, which is likely to happen. During an interview with Galatta, the superstar spoke about what the Indian film industry needs to do to save cinema. It is a well-known fact that Aamir is a huge ambassador of big screens cinema and his upcoming movie is also designed for the big screen only. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, many films opted for a short theatrical window which has largely backfired. Mumbai, August 4 - Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will be headlining producer Dinesh Vijan's next, for which the announcement will be made soon. This will be the first time when Shahid and Kriti will share screen space together in the yet untitled film. ## Touted as a unique and biggest love story film for Maddock Films, the movie will reportedly capture the love story of a human and a robot. It is a concept that has never been explored in Indian cinema before, thus making it a unique love story in the offering. ## According to Peepingmoon, Shahid will play a robotics guy while Kriti Sanon will be seen playing a robot. "Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s film is a robot rom-com. It’s a quirky Indian take on the romance between a man and a machine, something that has been explored many times in Hollywood but is rare in Indian cinema. In this film, Shahid plays a robotics guy, while Kriti will be seen as a robot", said the report. ## The story of the film will reportedly be set in a small town against the backdrop of an Indian cultural tradition. The movie is said to be directed by Amit Joshi in his directorial debut.
