Mumbai, July 19 - Hollywood films have done well at the Indian box office this year and the momentum continued with Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. It was released on July 12 and is doing very good business, grossing over 85 crores so far. ## The month of July is particularly going to be a major period for Hollywood titles as next in the month are Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig's fantasy comedy film Barbie. Scheduled to release on July 21, both Oppenheimer and Barbie are set to spring a big surprise at the Indian box office. ## Oppenheimer is particularly having an excellent response in the advanced sales in India as far as the national multiplex chains are concerned. It has sold approx. 200K tickets in three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) for the opening day which is among the top advances post the covid-19 pandemic. ## The IMAX format of the movie is almost witnessing a near-sold-out opening day while the English 2D format is also having a very good response. With these sorts of pre-sales, the opening of 20 crores would have been a sure shot given but the movie is expected to have low spot booking. However, it will still be eyeing a 15-17 crores start which will be termed very good. ## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures' Barbie starring Margot Robbie in the title role and Ryan Gosling as Ken, also has good pre-booking despite the competition as it has sold approx. 80K tickets for the opening day in three national chains. The advance sales of the film got momentum over the last 48 hours. ## Barbie is expected to score around 6-7 crores which will be a good opening. Had it been a solo Hollywood release, an opening of 10+ crores net was given with these sorts of advances, but due to the competition, the Hollywood audiences will be divided with most of them likely to prefer Oppenheimer. Also, there will be Mission Impossible 7 which is also likely to retain a decent amount of screens. ## The combined opening of both films should be around 20-23 crores net in India and if they receive positive talks, the opening weekend could well be around 75-90 crores net. Meanwhile, in the domestic (North America), Barbenheimer is projected to score $150+ million opening weekend ($110+ M for Barbie, and $50 M for Oppenheimer).## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, July 16 - Tom Cruise-fronted "Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" is having a very good run at the Indian box office with the 5-day opening weekend estimated to reach 72+ crores gross in all versions. It was the first major summer Hollywood tentpole in India and the audience welcomed it with open arms. ## "Mission Impossible 7" is having a very good response in the IMAX format as the IMAX collection of the movie is over 5 crores gross in the first 4 days. Unfortunately, the movie will have just 10 days to get the benefit of IMAX screens as Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" will acquire all the IMAX screens from July 21. ## "Oppenheimer" has been shot entirely in IMAX and it is touted to be an IMAX wonder and a lifetime of opportunity to experience this 3-hours long film in this format. In India, the response has been crazy so far in the advanced sales of "Oppenheimer" in this premium format despite having ticket prices as high as Rs. 2000 or higher. ## There are currently 125 shows available in IMAX for the opening day in India and almost all the shows have an occupancy of over 85%. By the time the first show begins, all the IMAX shows are expected to get sold out completely, which will be a record. Not just for the opening day, but the advance booking response in IMAX is record-breaking for the entire opening weekend.## "Oppenheimer" is likely to gross over 5+ crores in the 3-day opening weekend from the IMAX format only. It will be released in English and Hindi only in India and the pre-bookings are good overall. It has already sold over 100K tickets in the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) for the opening day. Mumbai, July 7 - Hollywood films are having great results at the Indian box office this year and this streak is expected to continue throughout this year. In July month, there are three Hollywood films, Mission Impossible 7, Oppenheimer, and Barbie, which are poised to take very good starts in India and have the potential to emerge big box office winners in a long time. ## Tom Cruise scored success with his last film "Top Gun Maverick" last year in India as the movie grossed over 51 crores while the worldwide collection of the movie is staggering at close to $1.50 billion (12250 crores). ## Cruise's next "Mission Impossible 7" is having a very good buzz among the Indian moviegoers and the movie is likely to take the biggest start in the Mission Impossible franchise. The advance booking of the movie was opened a week ago and the response has been very good.## As of 3.30 pm, on Friday (July 7), "Mission Impossible 7" has sold approx. 175,000 tickets in the three national chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) for the 5-day opening weekend, including approx. 85,000 tickets for the opening day, Wednesday, July 12.## The advance sales of "MI 7" are solid and it is likely looking to score approx. 100K tickets for the opening day in the national chains only while overall opening day sales should be over 150K tickets.## The last film in the franchise, "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" (2018) has taken the start of 10 crores (biggest so far) in India for 80 crores lifetime score. The 7th installment will easily surpass its predecessor's opening day numbers despite the mid-week release. ## The initial international critics' reviews of "MI7" are exceptional, calling it the best film in the franchise so far. Mumbai, June 29 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's much-awaited musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" hits the big screen today. Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, SPKK had its special screening yesterday in which it received a good response. ## "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is one of the films that is aimed at multiple audiences and this was clearly visible in the screen sharing and the advance booking sales. The movie has been released on over 2000 screens in India, with the majority of screens allotted at national multiple chains. ## The movie scored a decent advance booking for the opening day with over 70K tickets sold (block seats excluded) which is still one of the highest for a Bollywood movie in 2023. However, the majority of opening-day pre-sales were recorded in multiplex chains while the same is low in single screens which was expected. ## As far as the opening day is concerned and given the advance booking trend, "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is looking to score between 7-9 crores. However, a double-digit start can not rule out if the audience's word of mouth is positive as this can bring single screens into the picture. ## Even if the movie fails to reach a double-digit opening, it can still be termed as good if it opens in the expected lines of 7-9 crores. New Delhi, June 29 - The third installment of the Punjabi comedy-drama film "Carry on Jatta" has been released in cinemas today amid much anticipation. ## Being one of the biggest IPs in Punjabi cinema, "Carry On Jatta 3" is expected to take one of the biggest openings after recording the biggest pre-sales for a Punjabi movie. The movie sold approx. 38K tickets worth 1.02 crores gross in advance for the opening day. ## "Carry On Jatta 3" is the only Punjabi movie of all time to score 1+ crores in advance. If the advance booking is anything to go by, the movie is likely to take the biggest opening ever for a Punjabi movie and might touch the 3 crores net mark. ## As of now, Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's "Shadaa" is the biggest opener with 2.70 crores net collection, followed by "Honsla Rakh", which was also headlined by Dosanjh with Shehnaaz Gill and Sonam Bajwa, with 2.52 crores net. ## Meanwhile, "Carry On Jatta 3" is directed by Smeep Kang and produced by Humble Motion Pictures in association with Omjee Star Studios. Mumbai, June 15 - One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, Adipurush is finally hitting big screens tomorrow in multiple languages. The movie, based on the epic Ramayana, is directed by Om Raut and stars Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, among others in key roles. ## "Adipurush" is the major attempt to adapt Ramayana and it seems that the Indians are eager to experience this epic on the big screen which is clearly visible in the pre-booking. The advance booking of the movie was opened on Sunday (June 11) and since then, the response to pre-sales has been exceptional. ## The movie has sold over 1 million tickets in advance for all versions, and becomes the second Indian movie of the year to score this much sales after "Pathaan". The advance tickets sold are around 1.2 million (not counting block seats), which is the highest this year. ## The Hindi version of the movie has sold around 500K, which is short of "Brahmastra: Part 1" (600K tickets). Mumbai, May 17 - Hollywood films are having a good time at the Indian box office as recently released two low-profile films "John Wick: Chapter 4" and "Evil Dead Rise" emerged as surprise hits with the former went to scoring over 50 crores net collection.## Marvel Studios' "Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3" is also performing well and is nearing the 50 crores net mark. This momentum is expected to be continued as Universal Pictures' much-awaited Fast X, which is a bigger Hollywood IP than the aforementioned two films, is releasing next on this Thursday, May 18. ## The 10th installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise is among the most-awaited Hollywood films, and keeping that in mind, the advance booking for the same was opened a month ago. As the release is getting nearer, the advance booking has started picking the pace and is already better than "GoTG3".## "Fast X" has sold approx. 170K advance tickets worth 4.50 crores gross for the opening day. The three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) have sold approx. 80K tickets and more than 50% of these tickets got booked in the last 48 hours. ## The movie has been able to clock good pre-sales which has ensured a good opening at the box office. "Fast And Furious 9: The Fast Saga", which was released during the peak of covid-19, took the opening of just 1.90 crores and went on to score around 14 crores in lifetime collection in India. ## "Fast X", which is releasing in a much better time, will look to open with a double-digit mark. As per reports, the movie would be released on around 2500 screens in India, so the double-digit opening is very much on the table, and if it gets favorable word of mouth, then it is sure to have a very good lifetime collection. Mumbai, April 20 - Superstar Salman Khan-fronted Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is having a decent advance booking trend though the pace is slowed down after starting on a positive note. ## Directed by Farhad Samji, KKBKKJ has so far sold around 100K tickets worth approx. 2.50 crores gross for the opening day. The three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) have clocked around 40K tickets so far and it looks to finish around 60K-65K tickets. ## The advances are having better response than all but Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" for the 2023 films. At the end of the day, the total pre-sales for the first day are expected to finish over 4 crores gross with approx. 150K-175K tickets, which will make it the second biggest this year. ## At the start of the advance booking a couple of days ago, KKBKKJ was looking to score in the range of 20 crores net on the first day, however, the slow pace and the pre-Eid release have brought down the projection a little bit.## As many are expecting, the opening of the film is looking in the 15 crores net range but considering the better response in mass pockets, it should be eying to open around 17 crores which will be a good number and it could go higher if the talks are positive. Many would argue that a 15-17 crores opening is not up to the mark for a star like Salman Khan but things are not as same it was before the pre-covid era. ## Salman Khan has a strong fan-following in mass belts so expect the walk-ins to be strong than most of the Bollywood films this year. Mumbai, April 18 - Superstar Salman Khan's long-awaited family action drama film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is getting ready to release on April 21. Directed by Farhad Samji, KKBKKJ carries a lot of expectations and a litmus test for Salman's stardom. ## Meanwhile, the full-fledged advance booking for the movie was opened yesterday, and the initial response is positive. Mumbai, January 23 - The advance booking of Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham's Pathaan which started with a thunderous response has broken every record of Hindi films in terms of collections. The film has already beaten the weekend advance of War which was the previous record holder of Bollywood.## Pathaan is a part of Aditya Chopra's ambitious "Spy Universe" which started with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012. Going back into the database, we found that each film of the spy universe has set booking opening day records when they were released. ## Ek Tha Tiger (2012) was the first film in the universe and that film recorded approx 12 crores in advance business in 2012 which was the highest amount collected before release. The sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) also emerged as the highest advance booking film with approx 24.75 Cr collections.## War (2019) was the last film of the spy universe and the film had a booking collection of around 26 crores which was a record-breaking advance for any Hindi film. Pathaan currently has approx. 22 crores pre-sales for the opening day and it will go past War to record the highest advance collections. ## Pathaan is set for a mega-release on 25th January worldwide and the film is expected to break many long-standing initial records.
