Prabhas-Fronted Blockbuster 'Kalki 2898 AD' Sets Japan Release

Hyderabad, October 9 - One of the biggest Indian blockbusters of the year, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD is gearing up for its release in Japan and other international territories with Russia and China in the consideration. ## According to Variety, Nag Ashwin directed Kalki 2898 AD will be released in Japanese cinemas in early 2025 through Twin, the distribution company headed by industry veteran Kabata Keizo. The studio previously released SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR which is currently the highest-grossing Indian title in Japan. ## Prabhas is a popular Indian star in Japan. His Baahubali 2 and Saaho are among the highest-grossing Indian titles in the anime country. If Kalki 2898 AD gets a positive reception, it can repeat the success of those movies. ## Apart from Japan, Kalki is also set for a Russian release, with a dubbed version expected to hit theatres in the coming months. The makers are also exploring the options to release the movie in China which hasn't been a regular international market for Indian movies. ## Produced by C. Underwhelming Viewership To Prabhas-Fronted 'Kalki 2898 AD' On Netflix

Mumbai, September 11 - Sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas, is one of the biggest hits of the year in the Hindi language. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie scored approximately 294 crores net collection in the dubbed version and is currently the second biggest of 2024. ## Kalki 2898 AD was sold to Netflix for the post-theatrical streaming of the Hindi version at a handsome price. Given the fantastic box office performance, it was expected to be a big success for the streamer, however, the response so far has been underwhelming as far as the Hindi version is concerned. ## The movie debuted on Netflix with a promising viewership of 4.5 million views in the opening weekend. However, due to mixed reception on OTT, the viewership dipped in the second week to 2.6 million views and in the third week, it was down to just 900K views which is lower than the third-week viewership of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1.6 million) which was a box office disaster.## The total views of the Kalki Hindi version on Netflix are 8 million after 17 days and it will probably be out of the top 10 chart by the next week, keeping it under 10 million views which is poor viewership for a movie that was reportedly sold for a whopping 175 crores in the dubbed version. ## The viewership of Kalki 2898 AD on Netflix is one of the lowest for a major blockbuster since the platform introduced the Top 10 chart.## Produced by C. Prabhas-Fronted 'Kalki 2' Shoot and Release Date Plans Announced

Hyderabad, August 30 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been a massive box office success and the way it concluded has increased the excitement for its sequel to the next level, however, there is a catch. ## While the buzz around Kalki 2 is at an all-time high, the producers have confirmed that the movie won't be hitting the big screens until 2028. ## Producers and sister duo Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies were present at the screening of Kalki 2898 AD at the Moscow Film Festival where they said that the filming of Kalki 2 will start in the next five or six months, around January or February 2025. (via News18). ## Kalki 2898 AD was shot in a lengthy period of 3 years and unconfirmed reports have said that the sequel will take another 3 years before it gets ready to hit the screens. The sci-fi epic has so far grossed an estimated 1042 crores at the worldwide box office and is currently the 7th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has been in theatres for nearly 5 weeks which is unlike the recent Telugu movies as most the movies have been streaming only within 4 weeks of the theatrical release.
