Mumbai, February 2 - Back in 2023, it was reported that director Aditya Dhar and superstar Allu Arjun were in talks to collaborate for The Immortal Ashwatthama, the film which Dhar first announced with Vicky Kaushal. But despite the eagerness, the project couldn't materialise back then due to some reasons. After dropping Ashwatthama, Aditya Dhar teamed up with Ranveer Singh for Dhurandhar, and the rest is history. The historic success of the spy action thriller has brought the Mahabharatha epic back in the news again, as the latest rumours suggest that the project might be revived. According to the latest industry buzz, the URI director has once again approached Allu Arjun for The Immortal Ashwatthama. While there is no concrete update, it is said that talks are happening between the two powerhouse talents, and we may get some clarity once Dhar is done with Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to release on March 19. The film was officially announced recently, with Mythri Movie Makers coming on board to bankroll it. The pre-production work on the movie has already commenced, with plans to take AA23xLK7 on the floors in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, as per the strong rumours, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is in the considration to join the much-awaited film as the female lead.
