Warner Bros. Confirms The Sequel To Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman'

Mumbai, April 27 - Warner Bros. has officially confirmed the sequel to its recently released global hit, "The Batman". Robert Pattinson will be returning as Gotham's fiercest defender along with director Matt Reeves in the sequel, which was announced at CinemaCon 2022.

Director Matt Reeves announced the news about the sequel (according to Variety) and confirmed that he will write and direct the follow-up, but he did not provide any details about what the movie will entail.



"The Batman", released on March 4, is a gritty three-hour superhero adventure, ranked as one of the best films in the franchise. It debuted with $134 million domestically, which is the highest so far in 2022. It has so far grossed $760 million worldwide, including $367 million domestically (North America) and $393 million overseas. It is currently the highest-grossing movie of 2022.

The film sees Batman, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncovering corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite. It also marked Warner Bros' first exclusive theatrical release during the covid-19 pandemic, after the studio released its entire 2021 slate simultaneously on HBO Max.

"The Batman" debuted on HBO Max after 45 days of its theatrical release and scored 4.1 million views in the first 7 days. It was behind only "Mortal Combat", which gained 4.3 million views during its opening week. "Mortal Combat", unlike "The Batman", was released day and date on HBO Max and in theaters.
