WWE SmackDown Results: Injury Update On Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio faced off against Santos Escobar in an exciting battle between former LWO members, with the winner earning a future WWE United States Championship match against Austin Theory. Throughout the match, Austin Theory observed from a box suite, enjoying some popcorn as he closely watched the action.

Before the commercial break, Rey Mysterio attempted a dive out of the ring, but Santos Escobar managed to evade him. In response, Escobar reentered the ring and executed his own dive through the middle ropes, targeting Mysterio on the outside.



Unfortunately, during the dive, it appeared that Mysterio's head hit the floor in a painful manner. When SmackDown returned from the commercial break, it was announced that Rey Mysterio was unable to continue competing, and the match was awarded to Santos Escobar.

Given the impact of Mysterio's landing, there were concerns that it might have been a legitimate injury. However, WRKD Wrestling reports that it was all part of the storyline, putting fans at ease.

Regardless of the outcome, Santos Escobar emerged victorious, securing a title shot against Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship in two weeks on WWE SmackDown, scheduled for August 11.
