WWE Royal Rumble 2022 Results: Roman Reigns Vs. Seth Rollins Full Match & Winner

The record-breaking reign of Roman Reigns, now the longest-reigning Universal Champion in history, is set to make another title defense against Seth Rollins.





Their title showdown at the Royal Rumble event on Saturday, Jan. 29, will be their first collision since October 2019 on an edition of SmackDown, and it will also represent the first time that they’ll be waging war for the Universal Championship in a singles match.






Royal Rumble 2022 PLE will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 live from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. The event begins at 8 p.m. ET and a kickoff show one hour prior to the main card at 7 p.m. ET.



WWE Royal Rumble 2022: Roman Reigns Vs. Seth Rollins Full Match



We kick things off with Roman Reigns Vs. Seth Rollins. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the first to make the walk. He is followed by the challenger Seth Rollins. He is coming with Shield's music. Seth Rollins is marching through the crowd the same way, The Shield would do.





The bell rings, Roman with a waist lock, while, Rollins gets out with a standing switch, Rollins is now pounding away Roman into the corner. Rollins with a sling Blad and then tosses Reigns over the top rope.





Rollins with back-to-back Suicide dive to send Roman back to the barricade. Both get back to the ring, Rollins is on the top, he attempts a knee, but Rollins instead with a forearm to drive him into the mat. Rollins on the apron, Roman gets to land a Driveby.





Roman Reigns goes for the Superman Punch, but Rollins instead with Sheild Powerbomb into the announce desk. Rollins quickly gets Roman back into the ring, and connects with a Frog Splash for the cover 1..2..but kicks out.





This is going interesting, Seth Rollins hits a buckle bomb followed by a massive Curb Stomp for near fall. Rollins is shocked, he prepares for another Curb Stomp, but this time Roman Reigns turns it down with a massive clothesline.







Roman Reigns with Powerbomb for near fall. Reigns out with range starts landing punches, while Rollins quickly gets Roman's arm locked in, Reigns powers out.





Roman Reigns with a Superman punch for the cover, 1..2...but kicks out. Rollins is barely hanging out, He is outside of the ring. Reigns run and get to land a massive Spear on Rollins. Roman sends him back into the ring.







Roman roars for another Spear, but this time Rollins with a pedigree counter for near fall. A loud burn it down chant, Rollins is gearing up for the Stomp, but Roman avoids it and connects with a Spear to send Rollins into the mat.





Roman Reigns drags himself for the cover, but he sees Rollins laughing, Roman with a Guillotine choke now, Rollins is in trouble, Rollins powers out, but once again Roman gets him down.





Rollins tries to reach the rope but almost passes out but manages to grab the rope. Reigns refuses to break the hold and was disqualified.

Winner: Seth Rollins via Disqualification .

As noted earlier, Nia Jax asked WWE for time off to take care of her mental health, but on November 4, Jax was released from her WWE contract. ## Jax appeared on the latest episode of Renée Paquette's podcast "The Sessions" in a very open and honest discussion about her WWE experience. ## Jax stated that she was called and asked about returning to the company for a Royal Rumble appearance and her response to that idea was "F*** No" and that was she was not coming back. She noted she was still being paid by the company under her 90-day non-compete so there was no reason for them to pay her for the appearance and shut the idea down. ## I did," she confirmed to Renee Paquette on The Sessions when asked if she was offered a spot in the women's Royal Rumble. "I was in the middle of trying to get my stuff back. I had a bunch of crap. You know how it is, you're just shoving stuff in everybody's boxes. I'm in the middle of getting my stuff back, they sent me a box and more than half was missing. I'm like, 'Yo, what is going on?' When I got the call, I thought it was about, 'Where is my stuff?' It's my homie in [Talent Relations]. 'Hey, we're just calling to see if you'd be interested in participating in the Royal Rumble.' I started hysterically laughing. ## I thought it was my friend joking with me. 'Oh, you're hiliarious.' 'Actually, this is an official call.' 'Oh, fuck no, I'm not coming back.' 'We'd like to offer you this.' I said, 'first of all, I'm still under my 90 days. You're still going to be paying me anyway, so you're not offering me anything. No, I'm not coming back. Absolutely fucking not. Is this all it was?' 'Yes.' 'Okay, bye.'" ## When asked by Paquette if it felt like a slap in the face, Jax said, "That's exactly what it was. They were accumulating a list, this is what I was told, they were accumulating a list and wanted to offer me the opportunity, accumulate a list that they send to Vince, then Vince goes through the list and says who he wants and who he doesn't. I was like, 'You're asking me to be part of a list to go to the next step? Fuck no. How much more can you shit on me?' 'We didn't want her to feel left out. The original Plan was to hold off til Mania. ## Only a handful of creative members want to spilt them, with the idea that if the match happens, it should be for the WWE title. ## Instead, In the main event of Saturday’s show, Brock Lesnar won the men’s Rumble, a surprise entrant in the match after losing his WWE Championship earlier in the night. ## Brock Lesnar is set to choose his WrestleMania opponent on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Decked out in his throwback gear from The Shield, Seth “Freakin” Rollins delivers a painful reminder from the past to Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2022. ## The match got pretty interesting when Seth Rollins made his entrance through the crowd to the tune of the old Shield music and wearing his old gear, Rollins got inside Reigns’ head to keep The Head of the Table off balance. ## At the beginning of the match, Seth Rollins was able to plant Reigns through the announce table with a powerbomb. Two Superstars enthralled countless devastating blows for near-falls that left the WWE Universe stunned. ## In the end, Roman picked up Rollins and locked in the Guillotine. However, Rollins grabbed the bottom rope, but Roman refused to let go. Once the ref completed his five-count, Reigns was disqualified.
