Recapping Nakamura's recent story session from two weeks ago, Cody Rhodes enters the backstage area as we head to a commercial break.

Upon returning, Cody makes his way to the ring and engages the crowd, inviting them to choose the topic for discussion. He expresses his honor in welcoming everyone to a special episode of Raw and shifts the focus to Shinsuke Nakamura. Cody acknowledges Nakamura's prowess in the ring but expresses disappointment in Nakamura's recent actions, especially following his unconventional rendition of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." Cody insists that the issue should be resolved and gives Nakamura the chance to settle it that night, urging him to bring his poison mist and words to try to thwart Cody's impending journey.

Nakamura's image appears on the Tron, asserting that he never expected it to be so simple to manipulate Cody's thoughts and become the author of Cody's final chapter. Nakamura claims to have whispered the plot in Cody's ear, pushing him to the edge and blinding him to prevent him from seeing the ending. He declares that Cody's story won't conclude that night and offers him one more week to dream. Nakamura asserts that he will become what Cody could never be, concluding his story and symbolically closing his book by misting the camera.

Nakamura's music plays as Cody surveys the ring.
