WWE Monday Night Raw, November 27, 2023: Live Coverage

Randy Orton strides confidently into the ring, greeted by the cheers of the audience. He acknowledges the warm welcome, expressing gratitude for being back on Raw. Randy reveals that during his absence, he reflected on his accomplishments and decided to undertake a new challenge – competing in War Games. He emphasizes the significance of the match, created by the legendary Dusty Rhodes, and the opportunity to make history.

The Viper also discloses a personal motive for joining War Games: settling unfinished business with the Bloodline. Randy declares that he's no stranger to putting people on the shelf and possesses a bag full of receipts, ready to be cashed in with his devastating RKO.

Just as Randy revels in his return, Rhea Ripley's entrance interrupts the moment. Rhea acknowledges Randy's Survivor Series performance but questions his choice to team up with those he has issues with. She redirects his focus to the Judgment Day faction, claiming they now rule WWE. Rhea warns Randy that he has made powerful enemies and should cease fixating on the Bloodline.

Randy dismisses Rhea's warnings, asserting that nobody tells him what to do. Rhea laughs manically, insisting that Randy has now made enemies out of THE Judgment Day faction.

The situation escalates when JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio ambush Randy from behind. Despite the attack, Randy fights back, sending JD into the ring post and hitting an RKO on him. Randy then addresses Dom, vowing to find Adam Pearce and arrange a one-on-one match with him later in the evening.

As the focus shifts to the Tag Team Turmoil match, Chad and Maxxine discuss the teams involved, including the debut of Otis and Tozawa. Maxxine introduces a special guest, Jelly Roll, who expresses excitement about the upcoming match.

Amidst the anticipation, R-Truth appears, humorously inquiring about the whereabouts of actual jelly rolls, injecting a lighthearted moment into the intense proceedings.

Tag Team Turmoil Match

Otis and Akira Tozawa (with Maxxine Dupri and Chad Gable) vs. Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa

The bout kicks off with Ciampa and Tozawa locking up, with Ciampa initially gaining control using a side headlock and following it up with a powerful shoulder tackle. However, Tozawa swiftly counters with a well-timed back heel kick after avoiding a leapfrog attempt by Ciampa. Tozawa seizes the opportunity to flaunt his confidence with a signature pose after missing a spinning heel kick.

Ciampa looks to retaliate with a chop, but Tozawa dodges, responding with a series of punches and a distinctive gesture of his own. Undeterred, Ciampa connects with a solid chop, and Gargano enters the fray with a sneaky clothesline to the back of Tozawa's head. Ciampa follows up with another clothesline and a subsequent chopping assault on Tozawa. In turn, Tozawa executes an Irish whip, and Gargano delivers a boot to Ciampa.

Tozawa attempts a cross body, but Ciampa cleverly blocks it. The action intensifies as Otis tags in, unleashing a barrage of clotheslines and elbows, culminating in a potent double shoulder tackle. Otis proceeds with a back elbow to Gargano, followed by a spinning back elbow to Ciampa. The powerhouse then charges at Gargano with a running back elbow and caps it off with a crushing splash on Ciampa.

In a comedic moment, Otis playfully tears off Tozawa's shirt, setting the stage for a double caterpillar and subsequent elbow drop. However, the celebration is short-lived as Gargano enters the ring, landing a super kick on Otis while Ciampa delivers a well-timed knee. Otis goes over the top rope, and Gargano seizes the opportunity, tagging in for the pinfall, securing the three count.

Veer and Sanga (with Jinder Mahal) vs Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano

Veer and Sanga coordinate to slam Gargano and Ciampa into each other, with Ciampa colliding into the ring post. Veer follows up with a Thesz Press and tags in Sanga for a double shoulder tackle on Gargano. Sanga kicks Ciampa off the apron, allowing Veer to tag back in and deliver a running boot to Gargano's head. However, Veer's splash misses, and Gargano capitalizes with a quick three-count, securing an unexpected victory.

Julius starts strong with a fireman's carry on Ciampa, followed by Brutus replicating the move. They hit a double fireman's carry on Ciampa. Brutus and Julius maintain control with an arm bar. Ciampa fights back with forearms and a reverse DDT.

The action begins with Brutus sent to the floor. Kaiser and Vinci target Julius, combining kicks and elbows. Vinci impressively executes a springboard crossbody and a kick to Julius's head. They double-team Julius, hitting the Imperium Bomb, but Brutus breaks up the pin.

Kaiser directs Vinci to focus on Julius, but Julius counters, sending Vinci to the outside. Julius dispatches Kaiser as well. Brutus tags in, delivering a flurry of forearms and chops. Vinci is clotheslined over the top rope, and Brutus follows up with a spinebuster to Vinci.

Vinci attempts to interfere, but Brutus fights him off. Julius returns to the match, showcasing power with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex and a double Northern Lights suplex. Julius gets a near fall on Vinci. Kaiser and Vinci attempt a comeback, but Julius counters with a powerbomb. Brutus tags in, and despite Kaiser's eye rake, they successfully execute the Brutus Ball for the three-count, securing the win.

WINNER: Brutus Creed and Julius Creed

Rhea and Dom find themselves in the Clubhouse when Finn enters, emphasizing the need to take Damian seriously. Finn questions if Damian can hear them and prompts him to address letting the team down in War Games.

Rhea intervenes, stressing the importance of their unity as a family. Finn acknowledges that despite the War Games outcome, they remain tag champs.

Rhea emphasizes that setbacks don't mean holding grudges within their close-knit group.

Damian inquires about JD's condition, and Finn reveals that it's not looking good, suggesting they head over to check on him together.

Cody Rhodes makes his entrance to the ring and opens by asking what the Nashville crowd wants to discuss. He expresses gratitude for his team's victory over the weekend, giving credit to his teammates—Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton. Cody specifically praises Randy Orton as a mentor and friend and mentions the significant moment of hitting CrossRhodes on Damian Priest, winning the match in his father's legacy.

Shifting gears, Cody acknowledges the unexpected return of CM Punk and welcomes him back. He compares their presence to fishermen spotting each other from afar, anticipating the clash.

Cody then drops a bombshell, revealing that he is the first entrant in the 2024 Royal Rumble. The arena goes dark, and Shinsuke Nakamura's image appears on the TitanTron.

Nakamura commends Cody as a brave hero who has won his battles but urges him to continue his story. Nakamura expresses impatience, stating that he won't wait any longer to bring chaos to Cody. Suddenly, Nakamura appears behind Cody, spraying red mist into his face. The segment concludes, and the show heads to commercial.

As Ivar sets up for a suplex, Reed blocks it and counters with one of his own. Reed unleashes chops in the corner, channeling the spirit of Kojima and Kobashi, but Ivar counters with lawnmower elbows. Reed blocks the spin kick of doom, hitting a super kick. A Samoan drop and back senton from Reed nearly secure a victory.

Ivar attempts a moonsault from the top rope, but Reed evades it. Reed goes for Tsunami, but Valhalla interferes, prompting the referee to send them to the back. Ivar lands a clothesline, sending Reed to the floor, and Reed catches Ivar off the apron for a slam. Reed then sends Ivar over the ringside barrier.

The action intensifies as they brawl into the timekeeper's area. Reed halts Ivar on the ringside barrier and executes a Death Valley Driver into the barrier, just as the referee completes the ten-count, concluding the match.

WINNER: Double Count Out

After the match, Ivar retaliates by hitting Reed with a chair, sparking a brawl that spills into the crowd. During the chaos, Reed inadvertently splashes a production worker as they fight. Security attempts to intervene, but Ivar clotheslines one of the guards. Reed uses his strength to launch another security member into Ivar like a lawn dart. We return, and CM Punk makes his way to the ring.

Punk expresses that it seems like an extraordinary moment – him standing in a WWE ring on Raw with a live microphone in his hand. Not referring to the fact that a Blackhawks fan is welcomed in the Predators' arena, he mentions feeling more like himself since Saturday, considering it a career highlight. Trying to find the right words to explain his feelings, he acknowledges they might sound a bit corny and not typically CM Punk. Recalling advice from the American Dream about speaking the truth from the heart, Punk utters two words he's scared of how true they are: "I'm home." He asserts that this is where he belongs and reflects on being away for over ten years, emphasizing the constant support he received from the fans worldwide.

Punk praises the audience for their unwavering chants even during his absence. He reveals he is back because of his love for the fans, expressing how much he misses them and this environment. He explains that he had to leave to return and fulfill everything he needs. Punk acknowledges Saturday as an incredible moment and describes Monday as another amazing moment. He shares his gratitude for the warm welcome from everyone in front of and behind the camera. Responding to inquiries about AJ, he reassures that she is doing well.

However, Punk notes that not everyone has welcomed him back with open arms, emphasizing that some people are afraid of the truth. He addresses the competitive spirit in everyone aiming to be the best in the world, emphasizing that he hasn't been there for ten years. Punk states that people might be afraid that their chance to be the best in the world failed. Ending on an impactful note, he declares that the best in the world is back, in the ring in Nashville on Raw, and his name is...

The crowd chants "CM Punk."

Punk asserts that he is not here to make friends; he is here to make money as the show concludes.
