Vikram And Major Open Big At The USA Box Office

Los Angeles, June 5 - North America is turning into a huge box office market and leading the overseas chart for the Indian movies. After KGF Chapter 2 and RRR registered huge numbers over there, the latest domestic blockbusters, Vikram and Major opened big on the opening weekend in the USA.

Kamal Haasan-fronted top-reviewed action thriller "Vikram" opened this weekend and scored $1.75 million, including Thursday previews. The movie opened at number 9 this weekend, above "Crimes of the Future". The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed has been released in 450 theaters and made $1889 per theater, as per Hollywood trade analysts Gitesh Pandya.



On the other hand, Adivi Sesh-starrer biographical action drama "Major" opened at number 12 at the USA box office this weekend. It collected $900K, including Thursday previews. Released by Weekend Cinema, the movie debuted in 360 theaters, making $1736 per theater. It has already become Adivi Sesh's biggest grosser in the USA and will cross $1 million soon.

Meanwhile, "Vikram" is going berserk at the box office, grossing over 140 crores worldwide. This includes an estimated 107 crores domestically and approx. 35 crores overseas. "Major" on the other hand, scored 24.5 crores gross in the first two days. The movie looks to make 35+ crores in the opening weekend, which is already a blockbuster result for the makers.
