Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who had confirmed the sequel to be his next after recently released Coolie, is now reportedly shifting focus toward making his Telugu directorial debut.

Lokesh, who has emerged as one of Tamil's most sought-after commercial filmmakers, has been in discussions with several top Tollywood stars over the past few weeks. Reports suggest that the filmmaker is prioritising this project as his next, which may delay Kaithi 2 further.
