The Raja Saab Box Office: The Struggle Is Real For Prabhas-Starrer

Hyderabad, January 13 - Can you imagine that a film, which opened to 100+ crores gross, would be struggling to even make double of it? Well, it is happening with Prabhas-fronted The Raja Saab, which is in free-fall mode after the big start. And this is not just about this movie only; most of the top Telugu stars' films lose their way if they fail to excite the audience.

The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, had the opening of 100+ crores gross, but it soon became a thing of the past as daily collection dropped below the 10 crores mark on its 4th day itself. Had it been any other language film, the collection would have been doubled up by now, which is not the case with Telugu films.

After opening to 100+ crores, The Raja Saab dropped by over 50% on Friday, and another over 26% on Saturday to close the opening weekend at around 160 crores worldwide. The weekend trend itself suggested that the film would struggle to sustain, and the Monday collection proved that with over 65% drop as it collected just around 8.50 crore.

With 4 days of collection standing around 169+ crores, The Raja Saab is struggling to reach the 200 crores mark, which is not a milestone anymore for top stars. The Sankranthi holidays may still take it past the double century, but that won't be enough, as it needs way more than that to justify the big budget and star power.

The Raja Saab needs to gross over 400 crores worldwide to break-even and emerge as a box office hit. However, given the current trend, the film is likely to finish with a little over half of its target. The film will end up as Prabhas' second-lowest-grossing title since the COVID-19 pandemic, only ahead of Radhe Shyam.
