The Kerala Story First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 8 - The Kerala Story has been assured to score a huge lifetime total after showing a remarkable hold on its first working day, Monday. The movie had an excellent first weekend with 35.25 crores net coming in.

Despite facing bans and backlash, The Kerala Story scored is showing a jump of around 30% on Monday from Friday for an estimated 10-11+ crores net, which is phenomenal, to say the least. The drop from Sunday is around 30% which shows the power of solid word of mouth.



Directed by Sudipto Sen, TKS is going The Kashmir Films' way which created a sensation last year. TKF, however, had a lower opening but was unstoppable after the opening day, and the same is seem to be happening with TKS. The total collection of the film stands at 46 crores net after today's collection.

TKS is performing very well everywhere, especially in the Maharashtra region. Even in Kerala state, which is the core plot of the film's story, TKS is performing well on the limited shows available. The movie, however, is not able to get more shows due to the boycott it is facing in the state.

The lifetime collection of the film is hard to predict as this sort of film doesn't follow a pattern but it is certain to cross 100 crores and even 200 crores net collection is looking well within the reach. Whatever the final result will be, TKS is going to be a hugely profitable venture for the makers.
