Thalapathy Vijay Next With Vamshi Paidipally Sets Release Date

Chennai, May 8 - Tamil superstar, Thalapathy Vijay team up for the first time with Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally for his next, tentatively titled "Thalapathy 66".

The Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie has Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead opposite Thalapathy, while the movie also stars Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Yogi Babu, and Prabhu in supporting roles with Thaman S composing the music for it. Produced by Dil Raju, the shooting for "Thalapathy 66" has already commenced and it will be shot over a period of 5-6 months.



Meanwhile, the makers of the film on Sunday officially announced actors Sarathkumar and Prabhu onboard and also revealed the release date. Billed as emotional action drama film, "Thalapathy 66" will be hitting worldwide theaters on Pongal 2023 in Tamil and Telugu.

Earlier, producer Dil Raju had revealed that they are working to release the film on Diwali this year, but it seems the movie won't be ready by that time. Nonetheless, Pongal has always been a great time for Telugu and Tamil movies as the makers couldn't have asked for a better release time for Thalapathy 66.
