Spider-Man: No Way Home Gets The Widest Release Ever For A Hollywood Movie In India

Mumbai, December 16 - Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has taken the worldwide box office by storm. In India, the superhero movie has been poised to take the biggest start during the covid-19 pandemic, and it is currently tracing to earn over Rs. 35 crores on an opening day, Thursday, December 16.
The Marvel/Sony/Colombia film released over 3264 screens in India across 4 languages. It is the widest ever release for a Hollywood movie in the country, surpassing Marvel Studios' own film "Avengers: Endgame" (2019), which was released on 2845 screens. That's not all, with highly positive response all-around, more screens for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" are being added across multiplex chains.
Directed by John Watts, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" grossed Rs. 22.50 crores as advance booking sales for the first day, which is the biggest since "Endgame". There was a surreal craze for this film in India and it has totally justified the hype around it.
The 3rd and last film in the Home Coming trilogy, "No Way Home" is currently tracing to earn over $350 million worldwide in the opening weekend, including $200 million (+/-) at the domestic box office (North America) alone. It is also set for the biggest opening and most likely to become the first $1 billion grosser at the worldwide box office during the health crisis.
"No Way Home" stars an ensemble cast including Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans, among others.
