Mumbai, December 14 - Marvel star Benedict Cumberbatch aka Doctor Strange has urged fans to stay away from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" spoilers. Tom Holland-fronted "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which has had a world premiere on Monday in Los Angeles, possibly holds many secrets that Marvel/Sony don't want to come out before the movie officially releases in theaters.
While the early reviews for the film are highly positive, Marvel actors are pleading with people online to not reveal anything that could kill the excitement. Marvel released a video featuring Cumberbatch. In the video, Doctor Stranger claims that he didn't watch the film before and only saw the pages that included him and acted in scenes featuring the Sorcerer Supreme.
"Dear fans, it's Doctor Strange here. I've been accused of being a curmudgeon-y English sort of killjoy", Cumberbatch joked. "But I think the biggest possible killjoy would be to geek out and get that tiny bit of enjoyment from being the one to spoil the movie for others. Really, down the line, kids, parents, who knows, who really want to see this movie. I am one of them".
"I haven't seen this film. I don't know any more about it than the pages I've gotten. The character I play, the stories for him. The adventures he goes on, I'll tell you about that shortly. But seriously, I get it. It's so hard, you want to tell all your friends. I'm not going to tell any of my friends about it", he added.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home", which brings to an end of the Home Coming trilogy, is on the track to earn $200M - $250M at the domestic and a potential $500 million at the global box office over the opening weekend. It has already crossed $80 million in the pre-sales in the USA, where it is scheduled to debut on December 17.
Directed by Jon Watts, the movie features an ensemble cast including Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans, among others.
