Sony Announces New Release Dates Of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse I & II', And 'Madame Web'

Los Angeles, April 21 - Sony Pictures has pushed back the release dates of its much-anticipated superhero movies. The studio, on Wednesday, announced that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", which was slated for theatrical release on October 7 this year, will now open on June 2, 2023. Instead, Sony's live-action/CGI musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile — based on the book series by Bernard Waber, will now debut on Oct. 7 from November 18, 2022.
"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the first of a two-part sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which pushed the boundaries of animation and collected a best animated Oscar. It is easily the most-anticipated Spider-Man animated movie.
Meanwhile, the second part of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", has landed a release date of March 29, 2024. The film once again voice stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales while Oscar Isaac voices Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, An alternate version of Spider-Man from the future.
Sony also revealed that "Madame Web", based on the Marvel Comic character, will open on July 7, 2023, while "The Equalizer 3" will hit the big screen on Sept. 1, 2023. "Madame Web", an origin story directed by S.J. Clarkson, stars Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney.
