Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' Shoot Begins; Release Date Revealed

Mumbai, May 21 - After months of preparations, the shoot of superstar Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action thriller King has commenced on May 21 in Mumbai. As per the reports, Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma have started shooting for the film in Mehboob Studio, and the rest of the cast will join them soon.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is easily among the most anticipated Indian movies. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast, which also includes Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat, in prominent roles.



According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, King Khan and director Siddharth Anand are looking to release the film on October 2, 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti next year. "This date aligns perfectly for a grand Bollywood spectacle like King. Falling on a Friday and coinciding with a national holiday, this date positions the film for a strong box office opening", says the report.

King is said to be a revenge drama featuring Shah Rukh Khan as a seasoned assassin who embarks on a vengeful journey alongside Suhana Khan's character after a devastating tragedy upends her life. Deepika Padukone plays the female lead, while Abhishek Bachchan essays the antagonist.

It will be SRK's first film since Dunki in December 2023. It will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix.
