Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon's 'Virupaksha' Lives Up To The Expectations

Hyderabad, April 22 - There haven't been many films that lived up to their pre-release hype this year and those that matched the expectations, turned out to be blockbusters.

Telugu movie Virupaksha starring Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon, was one such film that was carrying a lot of expectations, thanks to its unique intriguing subject. The makers have been hyping it as one of the best mystic thrillers and they proved right.



Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, "Virupaksha" was released on April 21 and it turned out to be one of those rare films post the covid-19 pandemic which is getting excellent responses from both critics and audiences alike.

As far as the box office is concerned, the movie scored around 11 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the biggest opener for Sai Dharam Tej. It did really well in Telugu states and grossed around 8.10 crores, including the share collection of 4.80 crores.

The film is soaring high on rating sites as its IMDb rating is 9.6 and Book My Show score is 9.7 at the moment. The performances of the lead cast are being praised heavily, especially for Samyukhta Menon who is riding on back-to-back successes and is hardly putting any foot wrong nowadays.

After the strong opening day, "Virupaksha" is looking to continue the momentum throughout this festive weekend and it seems it will be able to complete the break-even target within the opening week itself.
