Rohit Shetty To Start 'Golmaal 5' After Rakesh Maria Biopic

Hyderabad, June 16 - Director Rohit Shetty and Bollywood star Ajay Devgn are one of the most successful combos of Indian cinema. The duo has worked together in 13 films and is all set for their 14th collaboration next year.

According to the report by Pinkvilla, Shetty and Devgn will next team up for Golmaal 5, which has been in the pipeline for a long time. The director is currently shooting for the Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham, which is expected to be wrapped by September this year.



Shetty is aiming to lock the final edit of the biopic by the end of this year for an early 2026 release, before taking Golmaal 5 on the floors by February/March 2026. It is said that the basic plot of G5 is locked, and the work on writing the screenplay is already underway.

"A fresh set of writers are working on the script of Golmaal FIVE, which is expected to be locked by September 2025, notwithstanding the dialogues and polishing work", says the report. It will mark the reunion of Ajay Devgn with Arshad Warsi, Tushar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Johnny Lever, among others.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has multiple films in production. He is expected to wrap Ranger, Total Dhamaal, and Drishyam 2 before moving to Golmaal 5, which is aimed for an early 2027 release.
