Hyderabad, January 25 - Telugu star Ram Pothineni's next film has been titled "The Warriorr", which is being directed by Lingusamy. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie recently went on floors under the production banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen.
Ram Pothineni is playing the role of a cop in this film, which is touted to be a different kind of movie in this genre. Meanwhile, "The Warrior" is already getting the attention for its Hindi dubbed version as RAPO's previous movies, such as "iSmart Shankar", "Shivam", were quite popular on satellite in Hindi.
According to reports, the makers of "The Warrior" have sold the Hindi dubbing rights (Satellite & Digital) to RKD Studios for a handsome price of Rs. 16 crores, which is the highest for RAPO's movie. In the last couple of years, South Indian movies are gaining a lot of attention among Hindi audiences, so it is no surprise that #RAPO19 is sold for a whopping sum.
"The Warrior" marks RAPO's debut in Tamil cinema. Even though he has done all his movies in Telugu, he speaks the Tamil language very well, and will himself be dubbing the film in Tamil. Krithi Shetty, who made her debut in Tollywood with blockbuster "Uppena" (2021), plays the female lead as a radio jockey. Aadhi Pinisetty (of Eeram fame) plays the antagonist in the film.
More than half of the shoot has been completed of "The Warrior" in Hyderabad. Director Lingusamy said that there are a few scenes and a song that have been shot in Chennai as well. Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is the music composer of the film.
