RRR Japan Box Office Collection: Takes Biggest Opening For An Indian Movie

Tokyo, October 22 - SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster RRR was released in Japan on October 21, and not so surprisingly, it took the biggest opening for an Indian film over there. As per reports, the movie grossed a solid ¥18 million (Rs. 1.06 crores) on the opening day.

As per the records available, "RRR" took the biggest opening, beating Prabhas-fronted Saaho which grossed approx. 90 lakh on an opening day upon its release in Japan in 2020. "RRR" has been released in Japan amid huge anticipation and is tracking to gross ¥60 million (Rs. 3.35 crores) in the opening weekend.



The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted period action drama film is looking to become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. However, it will need strong legs over the weekdays to get the top spot, beating Rajinikanth's "Muthu", which grossed approx. ¥400 million.

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli along with Jr. NTR and Ram Charan are currently in Japan for the promotion of the film. They also attended the premiere of "RRR" with the Japanese audience. At the worldwide box office, "RRR" has grossed approx. 1120 crores, becoming the 4th highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
