Kanguva 2: Makers Officially Announce Sequel To Suriya's 'Kanguva'; Shooting And Release Plans Locked
Chennai, July 9 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action Kanguva is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and even before its release, the makers have officially confirmed its sequel. The movie is directed by Siva whose last directorial venture was superstar Rajinikanth's Annaatthe (2021).
As Kanguva is gearing up for the Pan India release on October 10 this year, producer K. E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, confirmed in a recent interview that there will be two parts of Kanguva. The filmmaker revealed that they wrote the story for both parts and finished shooting for the first one.
The filmmaker further revealed that Kanguva Part 1 was shot in over 185 days and the shoot for the second part will start at the end of 2025 or early 2026 as the makers are planning to release in January or summer of 2027. He also said that they have something exciting for the audience at the end of the first part to hook them for the sequel.
Kanguva is the story of a warrior who lived in 1678 and died due to a disease. In today's world, a girl is actively the disease that killed the warrior of the 16th century. Suriya plays the role of Kanguva alongside Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in their Tamil debut.
