Exclusive: 'Jawan' Sold One Million Advance Tickets For The Opening Day In India

Mumbai, September 6 - The highly-anticipated Bollywood action thriller Jawan starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role is having an excellent response in the advance booking, be it in India or overseas. The advance booking is nearing 45 crores mark globally which is phenomenal to say the least.

It has become the second outright Bollywood movie to score 1 million advance tickets, after SRK's own movie "Pathaan" which sold 1.08 million tickets for the opening day. "Jawan", with still more than 20 hours left for the first show, has sold more than a million tickets and is likely to top "Pathaan" by the end of the day to become the number one Bollywood movie of all-time the highest pre-sales for the opening day.



"Jawan" is targeting the biggest opening for a Hindi movie. The movie is tracking to score over 80 crores gross in India and over 125 crores worldwide. "Pathaan" is currently the biggest Bollywood opener ever with 67 crores gross domestically and 105 crores gross worldwide.

About movie Jawan

The movie is directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. It tells the story of a person who sets out to rectify the wrongs in society with help from a group of women. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra while Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt play special appearances. Sensational Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music for the film that is scheduled to release on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, languages.
