Intercontinental Title will be on the line at WWE Day 1, 2022!

On the December 24th edition of SmackDown...Ricochet, Cesaro, Mansoor, Erik, Ivar, Drew Gulak, Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Jinder Mahal, Shanky, Angel, and Humberto competed in a “12 Days of Christmas” 12-Man Gauntlet Match with the winner receiving an Intercontinental Championship Match!



Sami Zayn hit the Helluva Kick to knock out Ricochet. He got the pinfall and by virtue of winning the 12-man gauntlet, thus he gets to face Nakamura for the IC Title at WWE Day 1.

WWE Day 1 is scheduled to take place on January 1, 2022, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and will be the company's first PPV event to take place on New Year's Day.
