Cora Jade will be sidelined for an extended period. Prior to a number one contender’s battle royal for the NXT Women’s title on Tuesday’s show, announcers confirmed Jade's ACL tear suffered at a house show last Saturday.
The injury occurred during a match against NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria in Dade City, Florida. Despite the setback, announcers acknowledged Wren Sinclair as the one who replaced Jade in the battle royal after defeating her in the aforementioned match.
Sinclair, formerly known as Madi Wrenkowski with previous appearances in NWA and AEW, made her debut on the show. Later on Tuesday, Jade shared an image of her knee in a brace on social media, captioned with, “It is only after we’ve lost everything that we are free to do anything.”
Roxanne Perez emerged victorious in the battle royal on NXT, securing her position as the new number one contender. She is set to challenge Valkyria for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Vengeance Day on February 4 in Clarksville, Tennessee.
