AEW Dynamite: Big Business (3/13) Viewership & Rating: Did Mercedes Mone's Surprise Debut Live Up To The Hype?
Mercedes Mone's much-anticipated arrival in AEW took place at "Dynamite: Big Business," mirroring CM Punk's debut with an unannounced appearance.
While the crowd in Boston erupted, the overall ratings tell a story of mixed success. According to Wrestlenomics, Total viewership edged up 3% from the previous week, reaching 801,000. The coveted 18-49 demographic remained flat at 0.27.
Mone's debut segment saw a peak of 1 million viewers, 70,000 more than the previous opening quarter-hour. However, viewership dropped significantly throughout the show, falling below 700,000 by the main event.
With Mone's return for the overrun not advertised, some fans might have missed it, leading to a viewer drop after her initial segment. While the surprise garnered initial interest, the rest of the show might not have captured the audience's full attention.
Mone's debut undeniably boosted initial viewership, but the significant drop afterwards suggests the strategy might not have translated into sustained engagement.
