'Everything Everywhere All at Once' Director Heaps Praise On SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'

Hyderabad, October 18 - SS Rajamouli's cinematic masterpiece RRR has a new fan in the form of director Daniel Kwan. The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted period action drama film is the most loved Indian movie internationally, especially in the United States where the general audience and filmmakers are literally going gaga over the movie.

Daniel Kwan, who wrote and directed the critically acclaimed absurdist comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once lauded the Indian blockbuster. "After a busy year of work and travelling I’ve finally checked a couple things off my list 1) finished my taxes (I know the irony) and 2) watched RRR. HOLY COW ya'll weren't kidding. Anytime I watch an Indian action film I feel like I'm working in the wrong country", Kwan tweeted.



"What really struck me is, while a lot of the blockbusters we're making in the states tend to have self-aware, cheeky characters trapped in self-serious filmmaking, RRR was all heart-on-its-sleeve sincerity wrapped up in the most ridiculous over-the-top execution. So much to love", the filmmaker added.

"RRR" made over 100 crores at the North American box office and it continues to play in theaters in a few locations. The blockbuster and never-ending talks for the movie pushed Rajamouli and the team to submit the movie for the Oscars 2023 consideration. It will be competing with top Hollywood films to get nominations in the 15 categories.

Meanwhile, "RRR" is getting released in Japan on October 21, and Rajamouli along with Jr. NTR and Ram Charan are off to Japan to attend the premiere and promote the film. The movie has already made over 1110 crores at the worldwide box office in its initial run.
