Dunki vs Salaar Opening Day Advance Booking Comparision In India

Mumbai, December 16 - The stage is set for the biggest box office clash of the year to cheer up the Christmas 2023 weekend in the form of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, releasing a day apart on December 21 and 22, respectively.

Dunki, a comedy-drama based on illegal immigration, marks the maiden collaboration between the two giants of Bollywood cinema, SRK and director Rajkumar Hirani. It has been one of the most-anticipated films of the year and the fans are eager to witness this magical on-screen combo in theaters.

Telugu superstar Prabhas teamed up with Kannada filmmaker Prashanth Neel for the first time on Salaar, an A-rated action drama about two best friends who turned biggest enemies. It story of the film will be completed in two parts, with the first part titled Salaar: Ceasefire releasing on December 22nd.

Unlike Dunki, which will be released in just one language, Salaar is a Pan India film scheduled to hit in multiple languages. The booking of both movies started opening gradually. Salaar advances had a strong start and ended on a high note, and Dunki, on the other hand, picked up well once the full-fledged advance commenced in the evening on December 16 .

Have a look at the booking status of both films as of 6 AM on December 22 -

Dunki - The film's opening day advances finished with good numbers. It sold approximately 558.8K tickets worth around 15.50 crores gross. Though the pre-sales are nowhere near SRK's previous two movies it is still good enough for the comedy-drama genre and has set up the stage for a very good opening.

Salaar - The movie has excellent pre-sales for the opening with close to 49 crores gross in all languages, which is highest for an Indian film of 2023. It sold approximately 22.38 lakh tickets via online booking. In Hindi, the movie managed to score decent sales by selling 218.5K tickets worth approximately 5.60 crores gross.

The bookings for both movies are strong for the respective genre and that set the stage for big openings at the box office. Dunki, as expected, scored around 30 crores net on the first day while Salaar is expected to score 80+ crores net in all languages.

Irrespective of who is acting dunki is good family movie. Unfortunately people in india like films full of violence.

SALAAR IS NO DOUBT SHAHENSHAH OF PAN INDIA WITH FIRST DAY OPENING MORE THAN 200 CR.HE IS DARLING PRABHAS. OTHER DONKEY WILL NO MORE THAN 40CR.

On the other side ….Such films which everyone can watch with kind of age cast, then those films are coming in a smart manner with a chance of running longer. It seems that this film can be enjoyed all types audiences like Buddha Bachcha, all kind of people together with family like RHF …Dunki…. No doubt Prabhas would have also done a good role in the movie. But this time I feel that Rajkumar Hirani and Shahrukh Khan, both greatest artists of their respective fields of India, are coming together, so this film will definitely collect more. Special in comparison to salar film…… Many people and experts say that Salaar will be left far behind in terms of collections.

If you go through recent years academy award winning movies, you will realise what film making is. Everything everywhere all at once, parasite, CODA, Parasite etc . Raj Kumar Hirani is an inspiration. Dunkey is India’s opportunity to win international recognition. Film making is an art not a glamour.

The man who is saying Donkey will beat Salaar is Day dreaming. Sorry Deep but you are day dreaming. Salaar is very different from previous prabhas movies which tanked. Because those movies were done by inexperienced director sand last one washed due to historical manipulation and bad CGI. But this time it is Prashant Neel the king of narration and mass movie so think once before comment. If Prashanth Neel can make Yash a known face in India in just 1 night then imagine what he will craft out with Prabhas who is already Known Indiawide

Dunki is surely the first choice among Hindi going Audience.. South collections would definitely be more for Salaar.. but not to deny the fact lot of manipulation happens in South numbers.. If Dunki turns out to be good.. by Monday it can overtake Salaar all india collections...

DONKEY (DUNKI) will only collect between 30 to 34 CR. SALAAR (SHAHENSHAH) of Indian Cinema will make between 172 to 176 CR on day one and premier collection. DONKEY is a same story of UNCHAI which is a journey. It will be a boring jouney with hurdles. DARLING PRABHAS is the NEW SHAHENSHAH OF BOLLYWOOD, TOLLYWOOD, SANDALWOOD, MOLLYWOOD, KOLLYWOOD - that's the way a South Indian Super Star is projected.
