Disney Paid A BOMB Price To Scarlett Johansson To Settle 'Black Widow' Lawsuit!

Los Angeles, October 2 - Hollywood A-lister actress Scarlett Johansson and Disney studio have resolved their dispute which begun over the "Black Widow's" day-and-date release in theaters and on Disney Plus. The actress had filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that Disney breached her contract terms which reportedly guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release of her Marvel movies.

On Thursday (September 30), the two parties reached a settlement over her blockbuster lawsuit. While the terms of the settlement were not disclosed officially, it is reported that the lawsuit cost Disney $40 million, which the company paid Johansson to resolve the dispute. It is said that the actress had sought a $50 million payout from the studio but they reportedly agreed on $40 million after negotiations.



The $40 million compensation does not include $20 million, which Disney had earlier paid to Scarlett as "Black Widow" fees. This makes a BOMB $60 million, which Disney paid the actress after settling things up. In a statement, Scarlett Johansson said that she was happy resolving her issues with Disney and look forward to working together in future.

Due to the lawsuit the upcoming "Tower of Terror" movie, in which, Johansson was slated to produce and star in was rumored to be canceled by Disney. However, as things have settled down, the movie is expected to go ahead and begin production in the coming months.

Interestingly, Johansson had received support from her industry colleagues and co-stars over the lawsuit, which came at a pivotal moment as the industry faces questions about how audiences will consume entertainment in the future, and how those who create it will be compensated.
