Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Starring Shah Rukh Khan And Kajol Is Back In Cinemas Again

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - the longest-running Hindi film in the cinemas, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recently completed 25 glorious years of its release. The film which marked the directorial debut for Aditya Chopra was released on 20 October 1995 and the love and passion for the movie have shattered all box office records and have engraved its name in the history of Hindi cinema as one of the biggest all-time blockbusters.
To celebrate the legacy of the film, DDLJ was re-released across the globe. Now, as the Maharashtra government has allowed cinemas to reopen from the 5th of November with 50% of full capacity, the iconic movie will start playing in the Maratha Mandir (Mumbai) theater where the movie has a record as the longest-running Hindi film, from today (November 6).
DDLJ went on to win most of the top national and international awards and rewards it deserved, including the National Award for the Best Film.
Recently, a bronze statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol was also unveiled in London's Leicester Square as a part of 'Scenes in the Square' movie trail to celebrate the film. Previously, when the film completed its 20 years of release, SRK and Kajol hosted an event to celebrate this film at Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai where the film has been running for more than two decades.
Apart from Shah Rukh and Kajol, DDLJ also starred late Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Himani Shivpuri, Satish Shah, Mandira Bedi, Parmeet Sethi, late Achala Sachdev, Karan Johar, Anaita Shroff Adajania, and Arjun Sablok in pivotal roles.
