Dhurandhar Box Office: Spy Actioner Emerges Ranveer Singh's Biggest Opener
Mumbai, December 6 - Ranveer Singh's A-rated high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar exceeded expectations, delivering the biggest opening day of the actor's career. The film arrived with solid buzz, but its real momentum began just a day before release, when advance bookings picked up sharply, pushing pre-sales to nearly 10 crore on opening day alone.
This surge signalled that Dhurandhar was headed toward a significant start. On its opening day, Aditya Dhar's directorial scored an estimated 27 crores in net collection. There are allegations that the makers did some feeding, but the opening is good and career-best for Ranveer after beating Simmba, which minted 20.75 crores net and was the third-biggest Bollywood opening of 2025.
Initially, the trade expected an opening in the mid-teens, but the massive last-minute upswing changed the trajectory entirely. With strong pre-release excitement, the film's first-day projections quickly jumped to the 20 crore range. The anticipation around Ranveer's action-packed avatar and the sleek spy universe helped drive strong interest across metros and mass belts alike.
What truly elevated Dhurandhar's opening-day numbers, however, was the strong spot-booking response. Positive early word-of-mouth fuelled walk-in audiences throughout the day, ensuring that the film didn't just rely on advance sales. The combination of action, style, and commercial storytelling appears to have clicked with viewers, resulting in packed shows across key centres.
Worldwide, Dhurandhar has grossed in the range of 40 crores, which is superb. With this impressive start, Dhurandhar becomes Ranveer Singh's biggest opener to date — a milestone that boosts both the film's momentum and the actor's box-office standing. If the audience reactions continue on the same positive note, the film is well-positioned for a strong weekend and potentially a robust lifetime run.
