Box Office: Will Smith's 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die' Clears $100 Million Opening Weekend Worldwide
Mumbai, June 9 - Will Smith's action comedy Bad Boys: Ride or Die crushed the projection to score $100+ million opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The R-rated flick is the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys series of buddy cop films.
Directed by Adil & Bilall, Bad Boys 4 has had a strong 3-day opening weekend domestically (North America) with $56 million (470 crores). It is the second-biggest first weekend in the franchise, behind only Bad Boys For Life which opened at $62.5 million in 2020.
Overseas, the movie grossed a solid $48.6 million (405 crores) over 60 markets, pushing worldwide opening weekend to $104.6 million (875 crores). It is the biggest debut in the franchise, Bad Boys For Life ($97.8 million). The movie was projected to earn $70 million - $80 million before release.
Made on a budget of $100 million, Bad Boys 4 received an A- CinemaScore. The movie will be after Bad Boys for Life which is the highest-grossing title in the franchise at the domestic and worldwide box office with $206 million and $426 million, respectively.
