Box Office: Gadar 2 Storms Past 300 Crores Net Collection

Mumbai, August 19 - Sunny Deol-led period action drama film "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" continued its blockbuster run on the second Friday which led it to go past 300 crores net collection. It has become only the second Bollywood movie of the year to hit the triple century mark after Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan".

Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" scored 20.50 crores net on its second Friday/8th day which takes its total collection to 305.13 crores net. The 20.50 crores net collection is the biggest second Friday ever in the Hindi language, besting SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2" which minted 19.75 crores net.



There have been a total of just 12 films in the Hindi language to enter 300 crores net club and "Gadar 2" is the second fastest among them to do so. It took just 8 days to get there, behind "Pathaan" which breached this milestone in just 7 days. "Baahubali 2" is the third fastest with 10 days.

"Gadar 2" will beat "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (320 crores net) on its 9th day (second Saturday) and has an outside chance to outscore "Tiger Zinda Hai" (339 crores net) to become the 7th biggest Hindi net scorer of all-time and by tomorrow (second Sunday), it has a shot to become the 4th biggest by surpassing "Dangal" (374 crores net).
