Box Office: 'Devara: Part 1' Scored All-Time Second Biggest Opening In Telugu States
Hyderabad, September 28 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's Devara: Part 1 was released on September 27 and took an excellent opening of 145 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, including approximately 98 crore gross in India and 47 crore gross overseas.
While the worldwide opening of Devara is the 6th biggest for an Indian movie, it performed exceptionally well in 2 Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) to score the second biggest start there, behind only RRR, which also starred Jr. NTR with Ram Charan.
Devara grossed an estimated 74.30 crores in AP-TG on its first day, behind RRR which scored over 100 crores gross collection in Telugu states. The latest blockbuster has beaten Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire's 67 crores, and Kalki 2898 AD's 66 crore AP/TG opening day totals.
Devara: Part 1 is the second biggest Indian opener of 2024, behind Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which grossed approximately 178 crore gross. It is also the biggest and first 100 crores solo opening for Jr. NTR, beating Aravinda Sametha (58 crores gross) and overall second biggest behind RRR (223 crores) which is also the biggest Indian opener.
