Box Office: Avatar 2 Surpasses $1 Billion Globally

Los Angeles, December 28 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water has topped $1 billion at the global box office, just 14 days after its global rollout began.

The long-in-the-works sequel grossed $1.03 billion through Tuesday and become only the 4th movie in the pandemic era to achieve the feat. It minted $317.10 million domestically (North America) and $712.70 million at the international box office. It is the 52nd film ever to top $1 billion at the global box office and 6th fastest ever.



China has been the leading international box office market of "Avatar 2" with $108.50 million, followed by France with $68.2 million. It is India's box office performance that has stunned one and all with its phenomenal collection, $40.7 million (337 crores) in just 12 days.

The Top 10 overseas markets of "Avatar 2" through Tuesday are - China ($108.5M), France ($68.2M), Korea ($58.4M), Germany ($46.5M), India ($40.7M), the UK ($37.20), Mexico ($29.5M), Australia ($25.2M), Italy ($23.8M), and Spain ($20.3M).
