Box Office: 'Animal' Crosses 500 Crore Net In Hindi and 550 Crore In All Languages

Mumbai, January 8 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action drama Animal has become only the fifth film in history to breach the 500 crores net collection mark in the Hindi language after Baahubali 2, Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Jawan.
Animal, released in December 2023, proved to be one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever. The adult-rated action drama opened to historic numbers and became the first film to score 50+ crores net collection on three consecutive days, and went on to score over 300 crores net in the first weekend in Hindi.
The movie held superbly in the second week to score over 130 crores net in Hindi, followed by another solid hold in the third week. In the first three weeks, the movie minted approximately 482 crores net in Hindi and 531 crores in all versions.
In its 4th week, the pace of Animal slowed down due to the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas-fronted Salaar. However, due to strong word of mouth and ever-rising demand, the film continued to score decently to remain in the race for 500 crore Hindi net and it eventually topped this rare milestone on its 39th day.
Apart from the Hindi net collection of 500 crores, Animal has also topped 550 crores net in all versions, becoming only the second Bollywood movie ever to top this mark after SRK's Jawan. It has become the first film of Ranbir Kapoor along with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, actress Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor to top 500 crores net in Hindi as well as all versions.
At the worldwide box office, Animal has crossed 900 crores gross mark, becoming the 9th Indian and 6th Bollywood film to reach the milestone. Since last year, it the 5th Indian and 3rd Bollywood film to cross 900 crores gross at the global box office.
