Hyderabad, April 3 - Director Prasanth Varma's superhero movie Hanuman, starring Teja Sajja, has been one of the biggest highlights of 2024 as far as the Indian movies are concerned. Released amid less expectations during the Sankranthi festival weekend, the movie proved everyone wrong with its sensational performance.

Hanuman hit the big screens on January 12, amid bigger titles in the form of Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga. However, thanks to superb word of mouth, the film outdid every other film to emerge as one of the all-time biggest Telugu blockbusters.



Produced by Primeshow Entertainment, Hanuman grossed over 100 crores in its first week at the domestic box office, before showing a marvellous hold in the second week with a drop of just around 30% for a huge 70+ crores gross. The movie remained solid throughout its box office run and managed to go past 200 crores gross domestically.

Apart from the original Telugu version, Hanuman emerged as a big success story in the dubbed Hindi version with a gross collection of over 61 crores, putting it among the top 10 highest-grossing South Indian films in the dubbed Hindi version. Overseas, the film showed excellent legs to gross around 57 crores for a worldwide cume close to 300 crores gross.

Box Office Verdict - Blockbuster

Hanuman was made on a budget of around 40 crores and went on to become the highest-grossing South Indian film ever to be released in January, beating superstar Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. It is also currently the highest-grossing South Indian film and second highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, behind Hrithik Roshan's Fighter.
