Amitabh Bachchan remembers iconic film Zanjeer as it turns 47 years old

On this very day (11 May), one of the iconic films of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Zanjeer' was released in 1973. The film changed the course of Indian cinema with the start of violence and drama. With Zanjeer, Big B emerged as an angry young man that would change Bollywood machismo forever.

As the film turns 47 years old, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to remember this iconic movie that changed his persona as an actor in Hindi cinema.

Zanjeer proved to be a landmark movie in as it started a new wave in Bollywood. Amitabh Bachchan was seen as a new hero who was left with nothing but to fight against the wrongs while maintaining moral values at the same time. The film emerged as a blockbuster.

Zanjeer was also the first collaboration between the legendary screenwriter duo Salim-Javed and Amitabh Bachchan. The film also starred Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Ajit Khan, and Bindu in key roles. It is directed by Prakash Mehra.
