Alia Bhatt To Headline YRF's First Solo Female Lead Spy Thriller Film

Mumbai, July 14 - Yash Raj Films' ambitious Spy Universe, which kicked off with Salman Khan-fronted "Ek Tha Tiger" in 2012, is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. The follow-up to ETT, "Tiger Zinda Hai" as well as "War" and "Pathaan" have raised the anticipation sky-high which is pushing the studio to plan bigger things in the future.

Now, according to Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra of YRF is set to introduce the first female lead solo Spy thriller movie in this ever-expanding universe. The producer has roped in Alia Bhatt, who will soon be seen in Netflix's spy thriller "Heart of Stone", to headline the Spy Universe's female spy movie.



"Alia Bhatt is one of the biggest crowd pullers in today's time and she will be playing a super-agent in the YRF Spy Universe like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Aditya Chopra and the team have planned an epic female-led spy film with Alia Bhatt which is expected to push her to the edge", revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.

Alia Bhatt has proved her metal by delivering solo box-office hits. Aditya Chopra is very well aware of Alia's pull and is leaving no audience segment out of the equation. The actress will be playing a spy in an out-and-out action entertainer, and this will be a big novelty for the audience base that she appeals to. It's going to be Alia Bhatt like never before.

The yet-untitled Alia Bhatt-starrer is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on floors in 2024. It will be the 8th film in the Spy Universe after "ETT", "TZH", "War", "Pathaan", and the upcoming "Tiger 3" (Dilwai 2023), "War 2" (Jan. 2025), and "Tiger vs Pathaan" (2025). Meanwhile, there are rumors that YRF is also planning the spin-off of Jim's character played by John Abraham in "Pathaan" and also another female lead movie featuring Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. However, these two movies are yet to be confirmed by the reliable sources.
