Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari: Chapter 2' Sets Telugu Release Date

Mumbai, May 14 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's historical drama Kesari: Chapter 2 has been hailed as one of the best Indian films of the year, and after the successful stint in the original Hindi version, the movie is set for dubbed release.

On Wednesday (May 14), the makers announced that Kesari 2 will be released in the dubbed Telugu version on May 23. It will be released through Rana Daggubati's Suresh Productions. Duggubati had earlier watched the movie and called it the best of 2025.



The film is produced by Dharma Productions in association with Leo Media Collective and Cape of Good Films. The movie was originally released on April 18 and went on to become a box office success. In 26 days so far, the film has grossed approximately 137 crores worldwide, including 104.75 crores gross collection in India.

Kesari 2 is a spiritual sequel to Kesari (2019), and the plot is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It is centred around C. Sankaran Nair, who took on the British Empire to reveal the truth of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Akshay Kumar plays the role of C. Sankaran Nair alongside R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in prominent roles.
