Akshay Kumar's 'Gorkha' Put On Hold Indefinitely

Mumbai, January 6 - In October 2021, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar announced war-drama Gorkha with director Anand L Rai. The movie was announced with first-look posters and was supposed to go on floors in 2022.

Over the last year since the announcement, there hasn't been any update on the film which led to many speculations about the movie getting shelved. Over the last couple of days, there have been many reports stating that the ambitious movie has been canceled due to some issues.



As per the latest reports, "Gorkha" hasn't been shelved but postponed indefinitely and filmmaker Anand L Rai has reportedly confirmed the same. "Yes, it is true. We are not making this film for now. There are technical issues. There are factual clarifications that need to be made", Rai said, as per Bollywood Hungama.

There were reports that Akshay Kumar had backed out from the mega project but Rai denied such reports and said that they mutually agreed to set aside the project until the factual ambiguities are cleared. The filmmaker confirmed that the movie will definitely be made at some point.
