A New 'Wonder Woman' Movie Officially In Development
Los Angeles, June 11 - A new feature film about the DC superhero Wonder Woman is officially in development, according to the CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn. The movie would be in addition to an HBO series about Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), James Gunn said that they are working on Wonder Woman, which is currently being written. According to Variety, the new film would be a fresh start for the superhero character, and it is unlikely to bring Gal Gadot, who has played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
Gadot has played this iconic character in 2017's "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," 2020's "Wonder Woman 1984," 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League," and in a cameo in 2023's "The Flash."
There are several DC Films that are said to be in development at the studio, and a few of them have already been greenlit. The first, "Superman," opens in July this year, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The second, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," starring Milly Alcock, opens in June 2026. The third, "Clayface" — a horror film about the titular Batman villain — is set to debut in September 2026.
James Gunn also revealed that he's planning another movie about Superman, which may or may not be the sequel to the upcoming movie.
