INTRODUCTION
Powerhouse talent from Kollywood Atman Simbu has developed an underdog Gangster drama titled "Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu". Let's see how the film is.
STORY
The film starts with Muthu (Simbu), a B.Sc degree holder working in a forest for his livelihood. His mother sends him to Mumbai to make ends meet for the family. Muthu works in a Parotta hotel but, in an unexpected situation, turns into a Murderer. Left with no option, Muthu continues to work under Gangster. How Muthu survives and continues, his legacy can be seen on the celluloid.
ARTIST'S PERFORMANCES
Simbu is usually at his best and has given great performances. His transformation from a poor innocent guy into a Ruthless Gangster is commendable. After Maanadu, Simbu delivered another excellent movie from his end. Siddi as a Sales girl and Simbu's love interest has given a beautiful performance. Even in close-up and romance scenes here, chemistry with Simbu is sizzling. Neeraj Madhav and Radhika have delivered natural performances. The rest of the actors gave good note-worthy performances.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
Music by A.R.Rahman is soulful and haunting. He gave life to the movie with his beautiful songs and astounding BGM. Camera work by Siddartha Nuni should be specially mentioned as there were great camera angles. Certain scenes have shot with realistic vintage frames and looked authentic on screen. The editing is okay, which is on par with the screenplay. Action choreography is brilliant as few action blocks are racy and thrilling. The writer-director Gautam Vasudev Menon has done what is expected from his movies. He has a separate fan base for picturising realistic scenes, alluring romance, and slow-paced yet engaging screenplay, which he repeated with this film.

Engaging screenplay, soulful music, great performances, and superb action blocks are the assets of this film. If you let go of the show-paced narration and a few boring scenes, this movie can be your choice to watch this weekend.
