Megastar Chiranjeevi and Superstar Salman Khan joined hands for the Bilingual film "Godfather", released in both Hindi and Telugu. Salman's Cameo has given a major. This movie was released amidst huge hype and also stars Nayanthara, and Satyadev, among others.
Chief minister PKR's sudden death shakes the state. The dilemma situation arises about who will be the next CM of the State. PKR's family is unstructured as both his Son Brahma (Chiranjeevi) and daughter Satya (Nayanthara) are not on good terms. Meanwhile, Jai (Satyadev), the husband of Satya tries to become the next CM and take the state into his hands for his own greed. There are several other candidates as well who tries to occupy the CM position. How Brahma deals with this turbulent situation and takes forward the legacy of his father forms the rest of the story.
Undoubtedly this is Mega Star Chiranjeevi's one the best roles in his acting career. He has a huge following in the masses. There will be high expectations for his portrayal in his movies. His mannerism, body language, dialogue delivery, and walking style everything is lovable to watch on the screen. Chiranjeevi has satisfied both his fans and moviegoers with his wonderful settled acting.
Satya Dev as Jai is menacing, cruel, and intense. His character needs to portray various shades and Satya Dev greatly enacted his part. He is the main Antagonist who stood against the mighty Chiranjeevi but made his presence felt. He gave a phenomenal performance and steals the show.
Salman's cameo is the main highlight of the film. Even though the VFX is poor and logic goes for a toss during the fight sequences, it is Salman's Swag that makes it believable on screen. Salman Khan rocked with his acting. Puri Jagannath makes an impression. Other artists like Nayanthara, Murali Sharma, Sunil, Shafi, etc gave their best in their respective roles.
Godfather is a mass film and fights are necessary to satisfy those audiences. The action choreography is stunning. The visuals are beautifully captured by cinematographer Nirav Shah. Music by Thaman is okay. His BGM is loud but suits the mood of the film. Dialogue writers have done a great job. Production values are rich.
Coming to director Mohan Raja, he has done a great job with this film. It is highly risky to remake a classic and convince the audience as the comparisons will be made with the original. Surprisingly Godfather movie can be termed as a good remake of the original Malayalam film Lucifer. The director has finely tuned it to suit the preferences of Telugu and Hindi audiences.
THUMPS UP MERITS:
Chiranjeevi screen presence
Strong antagonist Satya Dev
LET DOWN DRAWBACKS:
Few logicless action sequences
Godfather movie is released on the evening of Dussehra. This movie delivers what is expected from the audience's point of view. There is no dull moment and the film gives you high in many places. The hero characterization is elevated to the next level which is aptly portrayed by Chiranjeevi. Certain scenes are logic less with over-the-top action scenes. But still, the movie is engaging and entertains the fans and movie audience. There are no Adult scenes or bad language in this flick. You can make this movie your choice for this weekend.
