Mumbai, August 10 - As expected, the pre-sales of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 have taken a very good start in India and have already crossed the final opening day booking of some of the recent movies featuring bankable stars.## Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, is easily the biggest Bollywood movie of the month which Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa are also releasing. Ever since the movie was announced, anticipation has been on the rise which is evident in the advance booking.## As of 5 PM on August 10, Stree 2 has sold approximately 50K tickets worth 1.75 crore (without block seats) for the opening day (not including previews). With still more than 3 days left for the regular release on August 15, Stree 2 has already crossed the final opening day booking gross of Akshay Kumar's Sarfira (50 lakh approx.) and Ajay Devgn's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha (70 lakh approx.).## These are still early days but the trend of Stree 2 pre-sales indicates a sure shot opening of 20+ crores net of the movie and has a very good shot at taking the biggest start of the year in Hindi by beating Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD which opened at 22.50 crores net each.## Apart from having the biggest advantage of being a sequel to a blockbuster movie, everything has worked for Stree 2 so far from the teaser and trailer to songs which are going viral and ruling social media charts which gives the movie a massive advantage over other movies releasing on the same day.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 10 - The first teaser of Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is reportedly ready to release soon. It was recently revealed that the makers are set to launch a special teaser of the movie with the confirmation of the Diwali release.## A few days back, it was revealed that a 1-minute 32-second teaser of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, it will be out digitally on August 13 before getting screened on the big screen globally.## The makers have reportedly struck a deal with cinema owners all across the globe for the teaser of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which will be screened with all three Independence Day 2024 Bollywood releases – Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa from August 15.## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is produced by T-Series and the studio is gearing up for an extensive promotion campaign. The idea of screening the teaser on the big screen is a way to give a wide reach to the movie which is easily one of the most-anticipated Bollywood titles of the year. ## The movie is directed by Anees Bazmee who also directed its predecessor in 2022. Kartik Aaryan returns to reprise the role of Rooh Baba. Hyderabad, August 10 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's 2001 super hit romantic drama thriller Murari was re-released on the actor's 49th birthday on August 9. It was directed by Krishna Vamsi and produced by Ram Prasad Arts.## Murari was a box office hit upon its original release in 2001 and ran for nearly 6 months in theatres across Telugu states. The movie repeats the magic with its re-release as the audience thronged to theatres to watch the film, resulting in, there were packed houses all across on the opening day.## The movie scored a record opening for a re-release movie in the Nizam area with approximately 2.90 crores gross. Overall, the movie is estimated to score around 4 crores gross collection (final number awaited) in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) on the opening day. ## It has taken one of the biggest openings for a re-release Telugu movie with approximately 4.75 crores gross in India, including approximately 4.40 crores in Telugu states. Chennai, August 10 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action drama Kanguva is one of the most anticipated Tamil movies of the year. The movie is directed by Siva and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in their Tamil debuts. ## Directed by Studio Green, Kanguva is scheduled to be released on October 10 and with nearly one month to go for the release, the makers have announced the trailer launch date of the movie. Chennai, August 10 - Tamil star Dhanush's action thriller Raayan continues its blockbuster run at the domestic and worldwide box office. Written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan has been one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year and it has now reached a new milestone.## The A-rated action blockbuster has become the first Tamil movie of 2024 to reach the 100 crores gross collection mark at the Indian box office. The movie grossed approximately 98.50 crores in 15 days and at the time of penning this piece, it has crossed the milestone of 100 crores gross in India within 16 days.## Raayan is already the biggest Tamil grosser of the year domestically by beating Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which flopped at approximately 96 crores gross collection. Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja, one of the only 3 Tamil movies to top 100 crores worldwide in 2024, is the third biggest domestic grosser with approximately 81.50 crores.## Raayan's worldwide collection after 15 days is approximately 137.50 crores gross and by the third Sunday, it is expected to cross Indian 2 (149 crores) to become the biggest Tamil grosser of 2024 at the worldwide box office.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 10 - Maverick filmmaker James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar 3 has unveiled its official title on Friday during the D23 expo. The first two movies in the franchise have already been etched in the history books with monstrous box office performances.## During the D23 event, James Cameron along with stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington revealed that the third Avatar blockbuster will be titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, setting the stage for the things unfold in Pandora. ## "You'll see a lot more pandora that you never saw before. It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love", Cameron said (via Variety).## It is to be noted that James Cameron shot most of the portions of Avatar: Fire and Ash with Avatar: The Way of Water (Avatar 2), which depicts the war between humanity and the Na'vi after the rapacious Resources Development Administration (RDA) returns to the alien moon of Pandora.## Fire and Ash will follow the immediate events of Avatar 2, and at the D23 event, Cameron showcased some concept art from the movie, which reportedly was enough to excite the audience present there. The upcoming movie is believed to be more violent than the first two movies, and there will be new characters. ## The first Avatar movie was released in 2009 and remains the highest-grossing movie of all time with $2.92 billion. Its sequel, The Way of Water, took 13 years to come to life but there was no drop in the excitement as it is the third highest-grosser ever with $2.23 billion. Hyderabad, August 9 - The hugely-anticipated Pan India movie of Telugu superstar Jr. NTR with director Prashanth Neel has officially been launched today (August 9) in Hyderabad. The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts.## Currently called NTRNeel, the movie has reportedly been titled Dragon, and the makers have locked the January 9, 2026, release date for the same. It will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, languages.## The makers announced the release date with a poster which indicates that the movie will revolve around a historical chapter. Mumbai, August 9 - It was a hugely disappointing week for Bollywood with two new releases, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Ulajh bombed at the box office. Both movies were not only unable to attract footfall but were awful from the opening day which led to a disastrous first week. ## The Ajay Devgn-fronted romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was expected to score a decent collection even though the buzz was not there for that to happen. The opening below 2 crores net mark sealed its fate as it scored disappointing around 10 crores net opening week. ## It is one of the lowest opening weeks for an Ajay Devgn-starrer in the last 2 decades and easily the lowest by far in the last decade. It has been no starter from the beginning and it will finish below the 15 crore mark as one of the major disastrous of the last few years.## Janhvi Kapoor-fronted thriller Ulajh which was released on the same day as AMKDT also met the same fate with a disappointing first week of around 7 crores net collection and the lifetime will likely be the same as AMKDT.## Ulajh, after the poor opening, did show a better trend than the Ajay Devgn-starrer but there wasn't much audience for it to capitalize on that as the overall collection remained low throughout the first week. ## The attention now shifts to the Independence Day weekend which will see the much-anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2 taking on Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abrahm's Vedaa. While the Shraddha Kapoor-starrer is anticipated to open with a bang, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa will be looking to cash in the opportunity during the Holiday period.## Stay tuned...
