There have been pitches for numerous talent to be called up to the WWE main roster. ## Since the return to live crowds last year, NXT talent has regularly worked dark matches or on Main Event to help evaluate them. WWE higher ups feel it gives them a more accurate reflection of how a talent would immediately connect with a main roster audience, since they're largely working in front of the same few hundred people on weekly NXT TV. ## It was reported recently that Cameron Grimes was considered for an NXT call up. It looks like we gonna have one of the most anticipated matches at this year's WrestleMania. ## According to WrestlingNews.co, Lesnar vs. Gunther is one of the matches listed internally for the show. Gunther has talked about wanting the match because he feels a match with Lesnar would present his biggest potential challenge. ## During an interview with Illinois' WMBD TV, Gunther said the following: "If I had to pin it down to one name, I’d say it’s Brock Lesnar at the moment,” Gunther said. “When I was young and watching WWE, I enjoyed watching his matches. Later on when I progressed in my career, I was able to watch wrestling and analyze how people work. ## He’s always been somebody I was impressed with. He’s one of the best to ever do it. I think that’s the biggest possible challenge for me at the moment." ## There's always the possibility the card could change but the source said Paul "Triple H" Levesque has all the top matches scheduled and things could have changed "a billion times" under Vince McMahon. WWE higher ups feel it gives them a more accurate reflection of how a talent would immediately connect with a main roster audience since they're largely working in front of the same few hundred people on weekly NXT TV. ## It was reported recently that Cameron Grimes was considered for an NXT call up, but hasn't appeared yet. According to Fightful Select he's been working television for over five years straight and has great familiarity with producer Shane Helms, who does work on Raw & Smackdown. In addition, Von Wagner's name mentioned as someone who has been pitched for a possible call up in the past. It's not definite, but the company did already get several looks at him on Main Event, and he was briefly slated for a call up last year. ## There will be a more slow and steady flow of NXT talent brought up to the main roster moving forward, and to expect less years-long evaluation periods in NXT. And appearing on Main Event doesn't mean that there's been a pitch for a call-up or plans for one. Instead WWE is trying to get looks at talent on the road outside of the auspices of the Performance Center.
